Great little creepy video but no actual gameplay shots. I hate that. I'll reserve judgement for when I actually see what the GAME is like.

Well L.A. Noire blew us away pre-gameplay, then put the nail in the awesome coffer when they showed ingame mechanics. I still can't see this trailer though...

I don't give a damn about the video game or how good it is (because I'm sure it won't be as good as I want it to be) but THAT was a great trailer.

The game has been in development for a while... they have a great damage system by layers for the zombies.... layers for skin, muscle and bone, with dynamic, real-time, physics-based damage. The game will be open-ended, sand-box style (hence the convenience of being on an Island) with RPG elements and more of a melee-based attack system where EVERYTHING can be a weapon and the entire environment is destructible.

It's supposed to be a more "serious" zombie game than what we've gotten lately, with a lot of emphasis on story. I have high hopes for this.

A coworker sent this to me this morning, and I watched it with no context. Then we put it up a big monitor and watched it again with a group of people. I love my job.

Don't know or care about how good the game is. This was awesome.

I think I need to go watch Old Yeller to cheer myself up.

Seriously, though, a friend of mine who loves survival horror games lost a daughter recently who would have been 9 next month. I now feel like I have to do everything in my power to make sure he never watches that trailer.

The trailer was amazing, but I had mixed emotions:

Worried, no gameplay means this could be like anything. Wistful, the trailer made me wish this was more about to be a CG movie. Upset, that almost no horror film in the last 5-10 years has even attempted to stir up feelings as much as this simple trailer. Sad, I felt especially bad being the father of a 9 year old daughter, I probably would have ended up doing exactly what happened in that trailer.

Shit. Sorry. This one is of a dude who watches the trailer for the first time. He doesn't make it through. He apparently has a young daughter and is a big pussy. I have a daughter and I can separate the real life stuff from the trailer.

His reaction reminds me of when Brian Briffin finds out he has a son so he can't handle ANYTHING any more because of it.

I'll gladly pass on the video knowing that though. I did enjoy watching the recut-edited, reversal of the Dead Island trailer though. After seeing it in it's original form of course.
