[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

Pet Doctor :)
Hmm, the very first class I started out with, trying to recapture the Necromancer and the fun I had with him. My Wizard's level 12 now and I have just one more bounty to go to have 5....But it is that suckiest of bounties, Kill Malthael, which takes ages. I might just go Pet Doctor :)

There's no reason NOT to play Wizard. I plan to do that as my hardcore build.

Well, I know this sound lame, but having finished story mode three or four times with a Wiz, and seasons 1 and 2, I was getting somewhat bored with it. Yes, I know, people get paragon 9000 on one character in one season, but hey, I'm a wimp, or something :p? (I don't think I'm a wimp, I just don't have the time or will to push a couple of hundred hours on one character). I was having fun with her just now, but...Why not try something else? If the Pet Doc has become fun, I might enjoy it :)

I plan on doing 1 of each type of char for my seasonals this year. Demon Hunter (in progress), Witch Doctor (not started), and Crusader (not started) for Dex, Int, and Str. My hardcore will be Wiz because my hardcore is always Wiz. Except when it's Barb (and that's mainly to farm stuff for my Templar). :)

If you're running 6-piece Might of the Earth and Lut Socks, you almost certainly want your weapon to be a Blade of the Tribes. Keep an eye out for a Band of Might, too; it'll go a long way towards fixing your issues staying alive.
Got two of the rings. If I find a Blade of the Tribes I'll certainly let you know.

I am not on the ladder for barbs. :)

If you ever want to be humbled, be a Barbarian (paragon 280) running with two Demon Hunters (paragon about 70 & 165) and watch them kill EVERYTHING while you stand there like a fucking lump. I know they said that I cleared out the trash so they could one-shot the big guys, but come on. I'm supposed to be this great warrior and I can't do shit. Maybe - just maybe - a bonus of 40,000% for an attack might be a little overpowered.

Don't hate me just because my day old character can one shot bosses.

Though, if I had been alone, what you would have seen is that I would instantly kill five monsters, and then not be able to do anything as the rest chewed my arms off.

I'm two set pieces away from being able to switch to the whirlwind of doom. I'm going off of this guide but don't like his ring choices. Personally, I think Skull Grasp until I find another Unity.

All of this is if I get these pieces before the things I need for my Jumpy Earthquakey build.[DOUBLEPOST=1453732950,1453732856][/DOUBLEPOST]
who gets a 40,000% bonus?

Read the full set bonus.[DOUBLEPOST=1453733078][/DOUBLEPOST]700% of weapon damage for Impale...and THEN an additional 40,000% for the set. These guys were one-shotting GRift bosses.

Don't exaggerate, it took at least two shots.
The GR33 ones took four.

I had much, much more success last season pairing the Bul-Kathos mighty weapons with the Immortal King's set (and Skull Grasp). You get to whirlwind-dust devils 100% of the time and that means you get to keep Wrath of the Berserker running 100% of the time, too. The Wastes set was really good, but with Berserker running all the time that means you can't be frozen, feared, jailed, etc.

Actually, it's only +600% IF you are using a melee weapon, but then +40k% for impale to the first enemy hit with the 6pc bonus.

I got in a few rifts before my work trip and I wanted to try out my wizard. People were saying how awesome the new twister build was so I got my wizard geared and gave it a try. It was ok but not great and I kept trying slightly higher level ones and being unimpressed.

Yeah, I had a piece from another set on....things went a lot better after that.

Oh man, I had that happen, too.
I was trying on different set gloves so I could get compare them to get rid of all the duplicates I had piled up...and then I went into a T7 yellow rift with no glove on at all. I couldn't figure out why stuff would just laugh at my impale! Unfortunately, that was the rift where I was trying to get it done in < 7m. Needless to say I didn't make it.

Just so everyone knows, Skull Grasp isn't nearly as good as it looks - most good whirlwind builds are running runes that make dervishes, which are scaled up to crazy levels by the Bul Kathos weapons, and Skull Grasp doesn't affect their damage. It only applied to the actual ticks of your weapon hitting enemies, and is therefore much, much weaker than other ring options are. By all means try it out, but you're almost certainly going to have better results running, for example, a Focus and a Restraint in your ring slots.

The WW build I ran last season was with Focus/Restraint but with Skull Grasp as my cube power.
Also, all this time I also thought SG affected dervishes. Guess not.

So tonight I said fuck it and ran a Torment VI...and killed it. Torment VII. Not as easy but I did it. Torment VIII...got through it pretty quick. So I did a 35 GRift and did it in 10 minutes. So I think the only thing really holding me back was me.

Oh, and I got a Grandfather.

Congratulations on finishing the rifts!
And I'll bet the sword is nice, too.

Quick question while leveling: got a unique that gives Grasp of the Dead the effect of the Rain of Corpses rune. I'm only level 20, so I can't normally use that rune yet. If I equip it and cast, it doesn't appear to have gotten the additional effect...Do those additional rune effects not active until you could theoretically choose them? That'd be a shame, and render this level 20 version of a unique rather pointless...

That is correct, you have to have access to it to get it. Though, you can put that unique in the cube and extract that power if you want to use it later, without having to equip a lowly level 20 unique.

Yes, the effects you store in the cube are always at their maximum possible effectiveness regardless of the level of the item you sacrificed to the cube.

Because I haven't been getting the drops I need, I'm trying something new. I'm sure it's a build others have done, but it essentially gives me two Avalanches and two Earthquakes. Because of the set, Leap gives me an automatic Earthquake and I have a belt that gives me a free Avalanche when I Ground Stomp. So my SOP now is Leaping in, which draws the bad guys in to be torn apart by my Earthquake, if they prove tough I Rend to make sure they take 20% damage from all sources, Ground Stomp which stuns them and makes boulders of ice fall on their ugly little heads. If they are still around I can proc another Earthquake and Avalanche. If they live through that I Leap again and hit the Ground Stomp, which has already cooled off.

Once I get the Lut Socks this build will be very good. I likes it. And I'm still only one piece away from my second full set of Barbarian armor. That's the Whirlwind one that should be fun to try out.

I'm just a bit away from starting to push towards my GR40. Just need to get a few more levels on my gems NOW THAT I'M FINALLY GETTING THE GEMS I WANT THANKS BLIZZARD
