Where in your "plethora" is such a right so explicitly guaranteed? Spain? History would show otherwise.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights goes quite a wad further than the US constitution, and is recognized explicitly in the constitution of all countries part of the EU. Not to mention, technically, all countries eligible to be members off the security council of the EU, with the exception of the 5 founders.
