The frustrating part of that article is that it found that Bing and DuckDuckGo have gotten even worse.

And that the cause is due more to SEO interference rather than Google itself.

SEO is perfectly logical and terrible.
All major companies have whole divisions to do only that and they still get outdone by scam artists.
