Looks like I might be bringing my family down to just north of Dallas to visit family the week after Christmas.

Is there anything fun to do there?

Six Flags Over Texas is in the Arlington area. If your family is into roller coasters.

Open sporadically during this time of year.

Several museums downtown Dallas, the Dallas Zoo (or Ft. Worth Zoo), sit in a traffic jam on the LBJ Freeway (I-635), go to Dealy Plaza and listen to some of the conspiracy nuts... or use this link for some other ideas...

If you want to take them out for burgers, here's a short list.

I recommend Cousins' BBQ in Fort Worth. And also Six Flags. Other things to see, well, let's see... there's the Aquarium, the Botanical Gardens, the Rangers ballpark, the international Bowling museum, the cattle drive sculptures, the Fort Worth stockyards rodeo, and I think at least 3 companies doing "escape room" entertainment (they lock your group in a room and you have to use things in the room to solve puzzles to get out of the room before the time limit).

There's actually a museum there at Dealy Plaza about the assassination. Might be worth a look.

We've got lincolns chair and jfks limo here at Henry ford museum, so it could be interesting.

The plaza itself is also open (albeit still in use as an active road, so traffic can be an issue), and has an X painted to indicate where the limo was when the assassination took place.

Interesting! But that's what google maps is for, right? Less traffic. There's a photosphere for that location that shows the x:

Looks like google has a lot of imagery for this spot, and 3D trees and buildings in the google maps viewer.

Having been there, I can tell you it's not the same. I mean, it's not something you want to base your whole day around, but there's a palpable difference in seeing it on google in 3D, and getting in your car, driving there, parking, and walking to the plaza, seeing the X, and then looking back up at that 6th floor window.

And they've converted the entire depository into the museum.
