As weird as it sounds, Full House is getting a Reunion show, and then a Spin-off series on Netflix: http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/full-ho...onfirmed-by-john-stamos-and-netflix-1.3041892

So... ya. It's news!

I saw them filming at Disney World when I was a kid. I used to have a crush on DJ and Lori Laughlin, but I have no interest in seeing a reunion show; other than a rubber-necking "how old do they look" kind of thing.

That show sucked. Everyone I grew up with is losing their minds over this. I get the feeling a lot of people enjoyed the cheesiness of it. It also takes on a whole new dimension when you learn what a filthy comedian Bob Saget really is.

He's darkly funny. Coulier is a really talented voice-guy.

I think that's part of it honestly. A lot of people remembering liking it at the time, and then shortly after seeing what COMPLETE crap it was, and now it's far enough away to watch it as complete cheesy crap, and yet you enjoy it. The ultimate guilty pleasure in a way. The "problem" with the show, is that it was so successful that it defined many things that have since been mocked and deconstructed to such a point that they reinforced just how important the show was to the "family sitcom" genre as a whole. It twists and turns in its value!

So if they do the spin-off right, it could actually end up really well by seeing the "result" of this rosy picture of un-reality. Or even worse modern shit if they do it wrong, but we'll have to see what happens. IMO worth watching 1 or 2 to see. Spectacle if nothing else.

As for Sagat, I 100% agree. I've heard his actual stand-up since, and I wonder how somebody like him could have taken the "clean-cut, completely family-friendly" persona he did there and on Funniest Home Videos. Maybe he saw the whole thing as complete parody, and wondered when people would catch on? I really don't know. For comparison, it'd be like Chris Rock (or somebody more extreme actually) playing that character. It would twist your brain, but if you ONLY saw him in that role first... imagine the horror/admiration at seeing how much he was acting in the role when you then see his stand-up and how "not" it is like the character.

I always like to think that it was the super clean family friendliness of Full House and AFV that turned Saget into the filthy, filthy man he is now.

My 10 year old daughter and all her friends absolutely love the show. She flipped out when they mentioned it on the news this morning. For some reason it started getting popular again. I won't complain, at least it's better than 90% of the shows on Disney.

Unlike Girl Meets World, I don't know if this is one I'll feel any kind of need to watch. That said, I've been digging Girl Meets World. It's not as good as Boy Meets World, but that might be the nostalgic, biased side of me.

I'm almost done rewatching all of Boy Meets World. I think it holds up, but like you, I'm probably biased. Girl is very much a modern version of Boy season 1 though and getting better as the season goes on.

I feel like the success of the show was solely a product of it's time.

Like slap bracelets, jelly shoes, or Zubas. Something that will never be popular except in the time period that it was inexplicably popular.
