Futurama canceled again

But in all seriousness the last season wasn't the best the series has had to offer. And if it does get canceled I will be sad but the show has had a good run and I can be content with that knowledge.

Citing declining ratings.
They should blame the fact that there's nowhere to stream an ad-supported version online.

At this point I am just happy they came back at all. A few more years of enjoyment before it goes out gracefully, unlike the Simpsons...

Haven't seen the last...err...two? Three? Seasons yet since they're not available yet over here. Hint: making DVDs available in other regions seriously increases legal sales in those regions.

Oh well.

They could have done a lot worse than seven seasons and four movies. And to be honest, I haven't watched any of season 7. Season 6 started having very glaring continuity errors (like the amy-gets-her-PHD episode where Leela still laments over how she doesn't have a boyfriend when the previous 6 episodes and couple movies have shown very firmly that Leela and Fry are now very definitely a couple).

Yeah, I'm sad, but as others have said, content with what we have. They have one more season to be shown this summer that apparently will give closure, so I will be happy with that. They had a good run and like others, thought that the last season was their weakest. I'd much rather have them tie up the major plot threads and end on a high note than have it drag out being unfunny (I'm looking at you, Simpsons).

So let me get this straight.
"We've made it harder for people to watch our show."
"In other totally unrelated news, our show's viewership inexplicably continues to decline."

If anyone needs me, I'll be in the Angry Dome.

Sad it's ending, but not unhappy. They're getting to wrap it up, not just the "Oops, you're canceled with no warning. Too bad, so sad." It's really been up and down the last couple of seasons, no trouble catching it, TiVo does the hard work for me.

I'm ok with it. I haven't enjoyed the new episodes as much. Not quite sure, but something felt off in a lot of them. There were some I loved, too, but I'm not upset about it.

That was beginning to drive me nuts, the episodes where they aren't a couple were right in the middle of ones where they seemed to still be.

So did anybody watch the final episode last week? I liked it.

I loved it, they made it a stable time loop so it immediately went right back to the first episode!

Not surprised. They did that. Closes it off, gives them a happy send off, but leaves it open for that long shot re-return.

I would be happy if they left it where it is but wouldn't be terribly sad if say netflix were to pickmit up. Long shot with animation as I imagine it's much more time consuming and expensive then say arrested development but could be a great show for them to break into it with.

It took between six to nine months to produce a single episode. Anyways, I think it ended on a high note and it's probably for the best that it's over. Otherwise it might keep dragging on like The Simpsons.

I'm alright with it ending and it ended well.

I don't like that it's not actually over and there's some God awful crossover episode with the Simpsons coming.

They definitely left the (inevitable?) return/reboot open at the end. I was hoping for a gut punch like Jurassic Bark but didn't get it.

I am a HUGE Futurama fan and I am glad it is done. I love that it came back, and then came back again, and then again, but since season 4 the overall trend has been downward. Bowing out now it retains its dignity and keeps its spot as one of the best animated sitcoms, before it can fall into Simpsons or Family Guy territory.
