[NHL] Game of Thrones on Ice (aka the NHL Hockey Thread)

But Babcock is going to be the Sabres new coach.

Why is Babcock an option for these teams anyways? Has he really fallen out of favor in Detroit?
There's been rumours MLSE has been courting Babcock for ages now. I have no idea where the rumours started or why they apparently might actually have some weight to them, but a man can dream.

I think it's all based on Babcock's contract being up soon and him not wanting to discuss his contract during the season. The media has taken that as a sign he wants out, but as far as I know, all it means for sure is he doesn't want to discuss his contract during the season.

I still say just find 26 guys from rec and beer leagues in the GTA, pay 'em all NHL minimum, and pay the rest of the money for a coach.

Results couldn't be much worse.

Congratulations to the Edmonton Oilers for winning the Connor McDavid Trophy.

And to Buffalo for the Jack Eichel Award.

Eichel has said already that he plans to play for BU this season, as he wants to win a championship.

...I'll just let that comment sit there for a moment.

Eichel has been named one of BU's alternate captain for 2015-16.

He already knew that he was likely headed to either Buffalo or Arizona - and the latter only if the Sabres would have won the McDavid Sweepstakes.

He's been cryptic in interviews, but I don't think he cares for either destination.[DOUBLEPOST=1429468989,1429468508][/DOUBLEPOST]By the way: there really isn't much difference between #1 overall and #2 overall, in terms of NHL value. Over the last 25 drafts, the difference is just over 9% in relative games played (actual games vs. maximum possible).

Am I a Habs fan? No it's just reminding me of their string of winning games only on goaltending. They had what 11 games go to OT that year?

Also go Rangers.
