Got a Wacom Pen touch tablet for my birthday now what?

I've never used a tablet before. I'm hoping to one day use it to make comics but I don't know where to start. The tablet came with Photoshop Elements which I have never used before. Can anyone suggest a good starting off point for a complete and utter noob?

How did this just slip by?
If you have it available, scanning in sketches makes it much easier to trace out what you're attempting to do. That's a huge jumping off point in my opinion (edit) experience

Holy shit forgot I even made this thread. So far some stuff I've done is trace over actual photos I've taken and stuff like that. I am hoping to make something for the front page but I'm kind of flake so we'll see.
