Help Dave Help YOU!

Okay, here's the deal. My wife still doesn't have a job and the bills are due. I just took the car up to the mechanic because it was slipping gears and the transmission fluid was leaking out. This is the same car that last week I paid $420 to get the radiator replaced. Had I mentioned that it was only $260? Well, that was until it blew a plug and ran me another $160! Yay team Nihsen!

Most of my bills are covered for this month (or I'm just not paying them until I get a shutoff) but there's one that has to be paid or else. Halforums. And it's due Friday. $125. But it pays for 3 months and won't be needed again until January of next year.

I don't want to take donations. I just want to know if there's a generous soul who is willing to step up this month to keep the lights on.

Note: My daughter has a job and will be giving us the paychecks until such time as my wife gets her job. But my daughter doesn't start until tomorrow so she won't get paid for a couple of weeks. If this needs to be a loan then so be it. It's not like I can hide from you. (4513 S 61 Street, Omaha, NE 68117, phone number on request but I'm in the book).

Thanks and sorry for the sob story.

Generous enough, but unable.
I feel guilty, even though I know I shouldn't.

I'm sorry. My real life situation right now precludes being able to do this. I'm having to make budget and life changes already to deal with it.

I would like to add that if this ends up being a long series of "can't but want to" posts that I will be more than happy to put in a portion, I just can't come anywhere near the entire thing on my own.

As another who could do a portion but not the whole thing (it's rent and student loan bill time so yay!) is there a way to put something together so we could all chip in a little? I think most of us would be happy to do something :)

*Ahem* I can do it, this time. I'm on a lucky streak, luckiest for a few years. It looks like my situation is stable enough or the foreseeable future.
I know I mostly lurk, but I lurk a lot and I like our place here and all its people! So the next 3 months is on me, just me ;)
Just keep it up and running, your effort is really appreciated!

No worries, Dave, not too long ago I had times when even 20 units of currency was a lot for me. But I got out of that hole, now an insurance is due to, and I had not enough sleep last night to think clear ;)

Remember, i'm from germany, so Paypal or something easy to use would be great.

I sadly can't afford to pay the whole thing but I put some money towards it

Crispes. I could have snail mailed it to you. Don't have Paypal, and I've fucked up money transfers before enough to be leery of ever doing one again. Next time this happens, give us more warning. Just Me just saved the farm, but I'm in a better position to help out since my health improved.

I was just the first to jump the fence, I'm sure a team effort would have saved the farm as well. Perhaps keep those 5 bucks on the side for the next crisis, because I'm about to need a new car before winter.

Seriously, don't be afraid of coming out about stuff like this. Many of us would be more than happy.

Exactly. I might not be able to swing $150, but I can usually get $20 chipped into a communal fund.

I can also rent your wife for babysitting services if she's interested to drive up here....
