I thought immigrate was to move in, and emigrate was to move out. So I'd be immigrating to the USA, but emigrating from Canada.

Although, I could be confused. It happens often enough.

True story: Partner of mine, whilst on duty and keeping an eye on a suspicious individual didn't notice the car in front of him had slowed for traffic, and the two made contact. My buddy is all "Awww crap," 'cause not only did the thuglet get away, now he has an at-fault accident, has to fill a cup, the whole 9 yards.

Except the car pulls away.

So now he's "WTF?" and has to pull over the car he just hit. The hispanic driver gets out and says "Iss okay!"

My buddy, shaking his head says "No sir, I struck your vehicle, we have to do a report."

"Iss okay, iss alright!"

So now my buddy already knows what time it is. The gentleman had the trifecta!

a) No license
b) No insurance
c) No registration.

So when the officer arrived to take the accident report, the driver of the vehicle that was struck was in handcuffs.

There are days when this job makes no sense.
