I could give you such a huge hug right now! It is lovely in person. At first I was afraid I broke one of the chains, but then I realized it came with extra links to customize the pendants. An addendum: With said Packer playset that our SS organizer sent me, there was a special offer for baseplates for the set - for free (with nominal shipping charge).
So, for $3 I got a baseplate for the "end zone"... but what's this?
They sent me FIVE 16x32 plates, and two 16x16 plates???
They give you enough for the entire field, even if you only bought the end zone playset.
The words, "LEGO-maniac's dream" came to mind.

I received A Thing while I was tussling with a shoplifter today. It's a surreal experience having GLADOS tell you you have a text message while you're cuffing someone.
Returning home, I was informed that Said Thing was on the couch. After being pursued by a disgruntled 10 month-old (who demanded to be picked up, thinking he could get at my phone. He was wrong), I opened The Thing.
Oooh.... *grins*
Unless I'm blind, I didn't see a note that went with it, so... thanks, Secret Santa! It's gonna get mounted on the wall next to my other one. My daughter has some pointed opinions on what should go where.

This time of year, I get precious few moments to do anything that isn't "necessary," and when I do, it's usually broken up into nonconsecutive chunks of 40min or less. That said, I did receive a package almost 3 weeks ago, and, knowing I would not be able to do anything about it right away, it got put under the tree to await a big enough window to document its unboxing. It immediately had an appreciative fan:

Huh. Looks like conveyor rollers aren't the only things floating around an Amazon warehouse, trying to cowbird their way into outgoing packages to effect their escape. Looks like this ersatz lollipop is well past its expiration date, though.
Let's see what lies under the air blanket, shall we?

I don't know if I'll get to the game right away (we only have 3.5 people here to play it, and it really needs at least 4), but the cookbook looks...quite interesting. I don't know how soon we'll get to trying any of the recipes, but the photography is amazing--it's all glossy coffee table book quality.
These look fantastic. Hope we can do the recipes justice once Kati "approves" the book for use.
As for the sand? It's really weird stuff. It packs like snow, but if you manage to fissure it in any way, the fissures will spread, as though the newly-admitted air is forcing its way deeper between the grains. As for how much fun the sand is to play with?
...we may need to get back to you on that one.

I finally made it to the post office and found a package waiting for me. Opening it up, I find two wonderful DVDs - ParaNorman and Coraline - and a note from our own Gusto.

It's a(nother) book!
What's messing with me is I can't remember if this is from my Amazon list or not. It feels painfully and agonizingly familiar, but it's not already on my shelf and I don't recognize the editor or most of the contributers, which is odd for a RELS-esque book. I'm quite looking forward to reading it.
Next up: It's a CD!
2 CDs technically. I've now listened to both of them (in between my new Straight No Chaser disks I got for Christmas), and I think the 'newer' disk is the stronger of the two. It's been years since I've sung in a group that was good enough to do some of these arrangements, but I still remember a bit of my part to some of these, which is cool.
All in all, @PatrThom you did a kick ass job as my secret santa. I'm rather chuffed at each of the things you sent my way. Thanks muchly.

It is. I believe you added it to your wish list back in 2011. Surprised it went unpurchased so long. Now you can remove it.
You almost got this instead, but since it said it was going to take an extra 1 or 2 months before it would ship, I had to skip it.This was something similar to many of the items on your wish list. I wanted to get you a Rockapella album, but while most of them are $9 or so in the States, they were $30 and more up there, so they got skipped*. I tried to choose something that would give you a decent cross section of the King Singers' repertoire, maybe encourage you to sample a little more of their catalog.
