hypothetical nonsense question

It's time for another of those 'what if?' questions where you're given an impossible scenario and asked what you would do in it.

You awaken to find yourself and, to your surprise, yourself, in a dimly lit room. Your clone looks identical to you, right down to the gun that has been strapped to both of your sides. You're told by a disembodied voice that you have been abducted and cloned, and that the clone is an exact replica of you, with the same memories, feelings, and so on, so exacting that it is impossible to tell if you are the clone, or if the other is.

You're told that the first to shoot the other will be placed back on earth as if nothing ever happened. If, after 15 minutes, neither of you act, you will both be killed. You know your opponent as well as you know yourself, which may or may not be an advantage. After all, if you're even considering going through with it, then so is he.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

In before someone answers grue.

Me and my clone shoot each other in seemingly fatal spots, the bad guy comes out and then we rush him. And then me and my clone would make a buddy comedy film called "Yoshi & Mickster!" Coming Summer 2013.

I'd kiss her and have a huge make-out session with myself until we died.
...

I gotta get working on that clone tech.

What I find interesting about this scenario is it pits you against yourself. How much do you trust yourself not to turn on you in a survival situation?

Me... well, if it were him or me... I'd consider it. And that means he would to, so logically my only hope is to outdraw him.

If you both are exact in every way, then you are also exact in your neural impulses at the time, so the clone will do EXACTLY what you would do exactly as you would do it, to the point of perfect symmetry.

Though I suppose small variables such as room position, gun position, etc. could start a ripple effect of minute differences enough to create a unique clone thought pattern.

I'm sorry, I'm not answering the question. I would shoot my clone. And thus be shot.

OR SHIT. Would we both think about the above?? Then we'd consider and wait for the ripple effect to become great enough to develop a unique perspective on the situation. After realizing there is absolutely no way out, we'd probably play rock-paper-scissors. Again, we'd have to hope on the ripple effect creating a dissonance between play styles so that one of us could come out on top.

Question is mad hard, yo.

To butcher a quote from Goblins: You mean I gotta go up against other Bhamvs? That's the one guy whose ass I'm not sure I can kick!

Did they clone my scars too? Somehow replicate my muscle memory? I'm sure I could figure out who's the original. As soon as I couldn't, I'd try to get the other to help me bust out.

I'm going to team up with my clone to raise even more doomweasels so we can take over the world that much faster.

Ravenpoe... kindly stay out of my mind and quit posting things I think about all the time.

Thanks.

My answer of course is that my clone and I would shoot the place up in a futile escape attempt against the crule bastards that put us there as there is no way either one of us wants a clone getting back to the wife and kids.

Knock him out with the gun, rip his throat out just because I've already had enough of his shit...well, okay mine but whatever. Take both guns and go looking for the abductor.

How quickly would we confirm that we were exact duplicates? Assuming we could know this with strong confidence in the allotted time frame, we would probably flip a coin (or whatever was handy) and then abide by the result.
