A thousand times this. I can live with load times in my games but when I boot up my PC, I want it to my log in screen in under 10 seconds. When I cruise the web or use a primary app like OpenOffice, I want it loaded NOW. Just get a 250 gig Samsung SSD (it looks like it belongs in a laptop) and enjoy a serious quality of life improvement.

Time to start rounding up the filthy lower breeds, then?
(Never quite got why sounding like a Nazi sympathizer was the preferred bragging approach)
Except that doesn't work because PCs actually, factually, have the best versions of games when they...
- Aren't being done by a Japanese studio (with no PC experience). See Deadly Premonition, Dark Souls before the player base fixed them.
- Aren't being purposefully knee capped by their own studios. See basically every Ubisoft game.

True, but it's the same sentiment. He really should be doing this stuff professionally.

Man, this reminds me of a discussion I had a while back with a nice fellow on /r/fallout. He was insistent that the PC and console versions of Fallout were equal, and that neither was superior to the other.
"But mods!"
"Mods are terrible, they change the game in ways the developers didn't intend."
"But you can use the developer's console to fix stuff when the game glitches out!"
"Fix stuff? Why don't you just admit you're a cheater and be done with it."
"But keyboard and mouse are superior for input!"
"With VATS it doesn't matter."
"Yes it does!"
"No it doesn't."
The fact that he isn't some highly paid consultant for EVERY FUCKING COMPANY out there is a crime. He's a one man show that shows up entire teams of programmers.

It's needlessly high end and unattainable for the general public?

I hate playing first person games on a controller. I hate playing anything with active cursor control on a controller. Basically, I will play my 3DS and Wii U, but for anything else, there's PC.

Depends on the game for me. If it's something first person, then, yeah it's definitely easier with a mouse. But then other games are easier for me with a controller, like the Batman games. I found countering with the right mouse button slow difficult to time with my middle finger.

As long as it fits in your case, that's a big win

Yes. The new one is MUCH larger, so that of course means it will be better.
"Strix" is the Greek word for "Owl". You may or may not be able to deduce why I'd call getting it a win.

Looks like a better cooling solution, though. My old 8800GTX tried to use one of those cage impellers like your old card, and it just overheated like crazy (not surprising given that it was factory overclocked). I ended up just removing the plastic shroud from the heat sink (rendering the stock fan completely useless) and sticking a dedicated fan card in the adjacent slot to blow air directly on the sink. Worked much better after that.

After a few bumpy moments with the new Nvidia drivers (was getting weird FPS until I did a clean install from safe mode--maybe anti virus was screwing it up?), I was able to put every graphics setting for MGS:V to extra high and run it at a constant 60 FPS. Not bad at all.
