... for the first time ever.

God DAMN I love that series. And the ending was so satisfying!

ARGH why didn't I watch this until nooooow.

I'm halfway into Season 6 of DS9. The first 3 seasons or so are generally very slow going but once Season 5 starts, hold onto your pants. Season 6 so far.... has been EXCELLENT.

When are they gonna make a new series? QQ.

Think Enterprise killed it.

Remains to be seen whether Star Trek: Online and the movies will let the franchise pull a Lazarus.

I love the STO. It is set in the future (40 years AFTER the movie I think) which is distant future to anything that has been made before which is good. It allow open end story from there.

I do love the new movie and cast.

I do like the new changes and twist they introduce. It allow new movies to be made without "redo" the older version.

The first 4 seasons of DS9 (the first 2 were the worst by far) are pretty slow but I appreciated the depth of the storyline past season 3 as recurring characters keep coming back later on to the storyline (example, my last episode I saw was “the magnificent farengi” and it had no less than 5-6 old characters coming back. Not the best show of Season 6 but quite enjoyable nonetheless) I truly encourage people to give it another shot. Some episodes in season 5 and 6 are awesome.

The newest series Enterprise was never really given THAT much of a chance… and it was fantastic (heck, my woman got into it as well and she HATES the geek stuff though she enjoyed the movie). The last season that show was ACE.

I think it was 15 straight years of a Star Trek Franchise on the air. And the series (pl.) started going down hill after TNG left the air. TNG was great, DS:9 was good, Voyager was terrible, and Enterprise was only somewhat good.

Aside from the Vic episodes, the last 4 seasons of DS9 are probably the best Star Trek has ever done. I dig me some Dominion war.

I didn't really care for the emissary episodes. Actually, anything connected to the Prophets, from start to end of the series, was rather irritating to me. It was the Dominion war that made that show.

Do you rent them?

I would like to start going through TNG and DS9, as well, but I don't know the cheapest way to go about it. I have Netflix. I guess I should just queue up the series.

I borrowed all seven seasons from a friend, one at a time. Took me three months or so.

Yesterday afternoon she dropped off a box set of all the TNG movies, so I watch Generations last night.

Pretty sweet!

I know that my local library has a lot of TV series on DVD, so if you don't want to have to wait for Netflix (which isn't really that long of a wait anyways), you can always check there for free rentals!] It always depends on how modern your local library is however.

There are no TNG movies after First Contact. Nope. None.

The girl who lent me the DVDs apparently likes Nemesis the best, so I guess we'll see.

My only experience at all with any Star Trek series actually began and ended with seeing Insurrection as a kid but I remember only two very small parts of that movie.

lol I was counting on the avatar giving me away. although I haven't posted in a while anyway.

I will again defend my position that DS9 sucked balls and Voyager was actually damn enjoyable.

I defend my position thusly; it's my opinion and taste is entirely subjective. :p
