The supreme court ruled in a five to four vote that officials may strip search people arrested for any offense, however minor, even if the official's have no reason to suspect the presence of contraband.

Now law enforcement has another punishment they can use without due process.

The fourth amendment is, of course, merely a guideline.

While this, in theory, only applies to people arrested and placed in the general jail population, I suspect "general jail population" might be creatively applied by unscrupulous officials.

If you believe that the News is all about agenda and lying, you're smart enough to know that movies/television shows are fake, and have no personal first hand experience on the subject: How exactly do you "know" that the Police are a "Corrupt Organization" out to oppress minorities and cover up the "truth"?

I disagree, Dave. After the massive happy-dance he did on the news of Joe Paterno's cancer diagnosis, I lost any use for the expletive deleted. That is not something a decent poster or human being would do.

Ignoring the Charlie-persecution for a second , I want to emphasize that this only applies to any jailable offense - so you're not going to get strip-searched for making your dog poop in an area he's not supposed to. (Although it must be noted I don't know if this is a thing in the US)

Doesn't make it any less awful, just not quite as awful as it would be if it were applicable to every offense in the US lawbook.
