There has been a bit of interest on these boards in joining a guild once SWTOR launches. Before the game's out, you can pre-arrange a guild with certain parameters and the devs will assign that guild to an applicable server once the guild launches, always trying to keep the balance.

That in mind...

Sign up for I Bent My Wookiee today!

It will be an Empire Guild (read: Sith/Dark Side) and on a PVP server in the US East region.

Please post in this thread with your account name so I know which applications to accept! And please note if you want to invite RL friends too!

Applied as Garbledina. I wasn't sure how to answer a lot of their 'about you...' type queries. My MMO history is lacking: I briefly played WoW but the people I played with were level 80 while I was ... 1. And even when one of them started a new character to level 'with' me, her abundance of free time meant that she reached 20... 30... 50.... While I was languishing in the teens. This frustrated them and I never enjoyed the mythology of WoW, so I stopped playing.

But I frickin' love Star Wars. However if my ill experience, and current lack of available data re: times & dates for playtime is frustrating, I understand if I can't join the Guild!

Hey Id like to get in on this. I really dont have any mmo experience but have had some multiplayer experience so hopefully I will be able to catch on to whats needed pretty quick. I just signed up as Rovewin. I didnt put down any days because my work schedule varies but I usually am pretty free so I should be able to make it to most planned events.
Man this is one game I cant wait to play. Its above Diablo 3 for my most anticipated games list.

Excellent guys, excellent! Don't worry about lack of experience so much either - while a few of us in the guild have played WoW and a couple other MMOs extensively, SWTOR promises to be fairly different. We're ALL going in pretty blind. My advice is to keep an eye on swtor.com and get a feel for the various systems that are gonna be in the game before it lunches so you at least know what to expect.

Also if someone wants to apply as an Imperial Agent (read: Smuggler) that would be great. ;)

Most of 'em. Only Sith Warriors/Jedi Knights do most of their damage up close. Everything else is all force powers, blasters, etc.

This developer's blog illustrates the 8 different classes, each of which have two advanced classes (or specs, if you will) that explain their role in a group. And of course the site has some descriptions on what all the classes can do and how they operate.

Sith Warriors/Jedi Knights use lightsabers primary, dabbling a little in force powers but mostly sticking to melee combat.

Jedi Consulars/Sit Inquisitors use some lightsabers but mostly stick to heavy use of force powers. These have the options to either tank or heal, depending on the spec/advance class.

Smugglers/Imperial Agents use blaster pistols and other gadgets/grenades, as well as utilize stealth and cover in order to deal their damage.

Finally, Troopers/Bounty Hunters use blaster rifles and other heavier artillery and other devices.

Sounded interesting until I read it's going to be on a PVP server. I refuse to play on such a type of server. Gank-fest? No thanks.

If it helps at all, currently for US East PVP servers, Empire guilds outnumber Republic at almost 2:1.

Nope.

I'm definitely going to play on a PVE server with PVP done on my own whims and terms not when I'm trying to play the game otherwise and getting ganked.

Either way, I already had a guild I was planning to join. I just figured perhaps it could have been on the same server or created a character to come by and chat sometime.

Honestly though, before you guys truly commit to a PVP server, I'd strongly recommend evaluating on the type of players who'll join your guild ahead of time before you go in as people will get frustrated (and they will) and move off to play on servers allowing them to play in peace. There's a lot of casual gamers on HF.

Fair enough, but like I mentioned, this was a guild I was planning on making with several RL friends that I played WoW with for a good number of years. We like playing on PVP servers. If anyone wants to join us, that's awesome, it'll be cool to have a good number of people in our guild.

It is important to note that if you'd rather play on an RP server, a PVE server, or a Republic/Jedi class, then I Bent My Wookiee probably is not the guild for you.

With that in mind, maybe some people in this thread who have never played an MMO before might be more comfortable playing in a PVE server, in which case, they should consider other options before joining with us.

Same here, been pvping since my first days in MMOs. I'm more interested since it's on a PVP server. Was disappointed that the main DCU:O forum members were on a PVE server.

Congrats on scoring probably one of the most sought after names, though. :)

I'd name a guild something terribly unimaginative like "The Black Talon"

Actually, that isn't bad...

I was gonna name it after my first D2 and WoW guilds, Annihilus, but that's pretty played out by now too. I decided to go for funny instead. :)

Fun fact, we weren't the first with this idea, but the other guild spelled Wookiee wrong and didn't capitalize it.

Bumping this again. :)

Anyone whose joined this guild, please let me know, and I'll PM you a Google doc where we're planning out advanced classes and crew skills.
