Keeping 1 Dark Theme!

So which is it? Which dark theme are we going to keep? Whichever one gets the most votes wins.

The poll will follow soon. Oh, and I realize that Serenity is not a "dark" theme per se, but it's on the chopping block and I realize it has a following.

I am torn between WarC and Serenity. I prefer WarC for its darker colors but I like the icons and layout of Serenity better.

What she said. Basically if we keep it to only two styles I will only have to change two templates. The really cool modifications for vBulletin require you to change the style templates. I refuse to do this with more than 2 because it gets difficult to control and contain and gets to be unstable.

Because I have a light theme waiting in the wings that I'm rolling out as soon as this gets chosen. So basically it's the theme that gets chosen other than that one.

I've put the light theme in so you can see it. It looks like a lot but it's the same style with several color choices. You change the parent style and the rest changes right along with it. 1 change and 25 templates get updated.

Heeey, it's not fair to put up Serenity competing with the "dark" themes since it's not dark! It's the obvious favorite, always has been! But I like my dark theme to be DARK.. I use gScale and used AcidTech on the other forum... can't we really keep one actually DARK theme? :(

I don't like that Evo doesn't really visually tell you which threads you've posted on, though. The little color change in the icon is barely noticeable. At least with Evo Black.

Eh, Evo is okay but it's the background from Serenity that goes so easy on my eyes. I would be pretty bummed to lose it, more so than I usually care about a theme.

Evo Multicolored (1 theme, 25 color palettes.)

I have no idea what I used to use, but it seems to be gone now :(
Evo adds a horizontal scrollbar for me, and it looks somewhat crappy. Slightly too bright and not so nice button designs. I guess I'll go with Serenity, though I don't like the bulkyness of it.

This means I may have to switch them all over to "fluid" instead of "fixed" width.

I'll fix that tomorrow.

I don't use a fullscreen browser, so often if a page doesn't have a fluid width I have to scoll horizontally back and forth to read threads. I hate that.

The Evo theme is just barely too wide for my netbook screen (1024). Only a minor annoyance, especially since I do most of my forum surfing on my desktop, but it is a little puzzling.

How can you people deal with Serenity? I had to turn sigs off cause I couldn't even see very well the line the supposedly separating post from signature, and I kept confusing links people had in their sig as part of their post.

I know I'm gonna sound like, incredibly whiny, but I just don't find myself spending as much time on the board since the themes shift, all the new themes (and I tried all the Evo color variations, one by one) aren't comfortable for reading for me, it's like a bad myspace or something.

Is there a way I can change at least the background color from my side? Like a greasemonkey script or something?

I could probably never LEAVE, baby, but the uncomfortable color combinations make it so I spend like a quarter of the time I used to surfing the forums. It's not even a conscious decision on my part, it just tires my eyes to read for long with bright backgrounds, or smudgy brown, or all... whatever WarC is that's all crowded and with ugly icons.

But I've thought about it and less forum time is probably a good idea for me, and less Calleja time is probably a good idea for the forum, too. I'll be around, you won't get rid of me.

That's what I'm wondering... I didn't even know I could change the appearance until they introduced the HK theme.

The people are still here, and the content is still here... and our admins have been working really hard for something most of us just freeload.

Bottom line, I think people leaving over something this superficial is kinda... well, superficial. I would rather be put up with a STILL IMPROVING forum look than to just quit altogether because the hard work being done is not up to my perfect specifications.

Is it really that big of a deal? I really want to see why it is. Please enlighten me as I re read the thread to once again try to see why it's such an ordeal...:confused:
