I just got new cell service, and it came with an extra line. So I have a SIM card, but no phone. I want to use it as a house phone, but I have no older GSM phones. Looking for recommendations. I would like something Android, primarily so I can play with Android, but that's not a requirement. I'm okay with dumbphones so long as they accept the usual nanosim. But, jeez, the dumbphones on eBay are more than the older smartphones, probably due to good ol supply and demand. My biggest desire is cheap. If that means no smartphone, so be it, Jedi.

Any suggestions?

I've got an old Sidekick 3 you can just have.

I mean, it's not android, and it's 2g, but it works as a phone, and can text. The keyboard on it was actually excellent for text messaging.

FYI 2G is being wound down and discontinued by Jan 2017. Just something to keep in mind.

LG has the Wine Smart, which may or may not officially come to the US.
Kati has been looking for something flip+Android, and mentioned this to me.
