Mega Man Unlimited

So, there's a new Mega Man fan game called Mega Man Unlimited. Dude's been working on it for 5 years. It's fucking great. It's pure Mega Man goodness and shits on everything Capcom has put out Mega Man related since Mega Man 9 (it's better than 10 so far even).

It's ass crushingly hard so far (I need to not play it with a keyboard I think).

This looks like everything a Mega Man fan could want.

How long before Capcom tries to destroy it?

Holy shit that's hard. And the Mega Buster doesn't even charge. Shit. Good thing there seems to be unlimited continues.

As it should be, charged Mega Buster was a mistake in the regular Mega Man games.

Does it have controller support?

As far as I can tell it does. It has the option in the options. I haven't tested it yet.

I downloaded it before leaving for work. I'll confirm tomorrow when I get home and play it.

It does have controller options, I just set mine up.

And yeah, this thing tough!

Xbox controller?

I have an old PS1 controller adapter. Worked with that.

Xbox controller works just perfectly.

I'd agree more if they didn't have common enemies in this game rushing at you who take 6 shots (SIX) to kill! Looking at you, skateboard assholes on the yo yo man stage.

Playing with a controller now.

Probably shouldn't have started on Rainbow Man's stage.

Modern gaming has destroyed my classic gaming powers! There was a time when this game would be nothing for me. Now I can even get to the half way point in a level.:(. Also, xbox controller sucks for this thing. I will try with my old psone controller.

It's not just that. I still routinely bust out MM2 and MM3 to play, and this game is an order of magnitude harder. The levels are longer, the checkpoints harder to reach, and the enemies uniformly need more damage to kill.

I'm having zero problems with the xbox 360 control. I assume you're assigning the digital pad to the controls and not the analog sticks.

Of course. But it feels wrong. Maybe it's the round shape of the digital pad.[DOUBLEPOST=1374588095][/DOUBLEPOST]

I can't finish the clinger winger in battletoads anymore! What has become of me?

As long as you can get past the Turbo Tunnel you're still ahead of 90% of kids in the early 90s.

I never beat Battletoads. But I did get past Turbo Tunnel (and the lame boss fight afterwards) and that was enough victory for me.

... the turbo tunnel didn't have a boss fight. Do you mean the fight with Big Blag in the surfboard level? Yeah, he was easy peasy if you had a walker's leg to pummel him with, you could smack him against the side of the screen and just keep him juggled until he exploded.

Of course, that implies you took the warp right before the end of the turbo tunnel to skip the ice caverns... but I think just about everybody did.

Man, I remember a lot about old NES games.

Fixed that for ya.

I was a bit obsessive about beating games when I was a kid. To the point where I'd forgo eating, sleeping, etc... until I had beaten a game if I only had access to it for a limited time. Battletoads was one of those games.

Ah, you are correct. I forgot about that warp point.

Because really, fuck the ice caverns.

Why is there an ice level in all those games, when everybody hates them?

Turbo tunnel is more memory than skill. The true challenge starts with ice caverns.[DOUBLEPOST=1374598886][/DOUBLEPOST]

I used the warp in ice caverns, because surf city was boring.
