My trouble with Java

So I come back from my vacation with a camera full of pictures ready to be uploaded. The happy days at the family's house near the beach, the nice trip to London me and my Friends took to celebrate that last year it was 10 years since we formed the group, and some other stuff I'm ready to share with the world...

But Facebook still asks me to install Java to upload the pictures.

The problem is that I'm completely unable to install Java! It starts the installation and, then, it interrupts "for unknown reasons".

I bet it has something to do with the fact that, as we couldn't find my Windows CD, a friend of mine installed me a pirated one when he formatted the disk, and this Windows can't be updated past the "service pack two" or something similar.

DO you know anything I can do to solve this, other than "switching to mac"?

Have you tried uninstalling all previous versions of Java?

Unplug it, fuck it, burn it, buy a Mac.

Unplug it, fuck it, burn it, buy a Mac.
Then install a timed bomb inside the Mac, return it, make the Mac shop explode, buy a computer.

Have you tried the offline Java installer?

Have you tried the offline Java installer?
I'm not sure... I downloaded the installer from Sun Microsystem's web page, but I don't know if it is installing Java from the web via the thing or from the thing itself.

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

That's the page for manual choice of downloads, the offline version isn't the default.

It's a different file...

But it doesn't work either. It just tells me the installation has failed without any loading times...

Use another computer :( (I want my sexy pregnant pictures!!! -not on facebook tho)

Also, you can try to upgrade to windows 7, since your XP is not working properly anyway.
