I never get tired of these guessing games. I got about 30 so far, but stumped at this point.

Doh, Missile has a second "i" in it.
40 now.

I only have 5 left, but i can't for the life of me figure out what they are.

I'm missing:
Owl with Crown
Skateboarding kid (This could be any of the 500 billion skateboarding games)
Silver Knight
Tiger Helicopter
You're so close on the tiger, but you've got to be a little more concise.
#9
bhamv3
Man, how are you guys doing so well, I'm stuck at 26.
#10
figmentPez
I'm up to 48 myself, and I'm stumped by:
#7 The flower in a pot
#8 The Bull R in the pages of a book
#15 The guy peeling off his face to reveal a skull
#23 The violin guys dueling
#29 The running rock
#32 Owl with a crown
#36 The clock split in half
#50 Guy with his eyeball hanging out.

is an arcade game, where one person steered the front of the truck, and the other the rear.
#11
ThatNickGuy
That owl is pissing me off.
Ditto for pie on the far right.
And that clock cut in half.
The golden T.
The book with "R"
The star in the castle
The two dudes holding up...swords? Wands?
The other Tron game
The tiger helicopter
The dude with an eye hanging out
The air balloons
Ugh. I love and hate these games. Love because they're fun but hate because when I figure out the answer, I'm all like "Well, DUH, Nick!"

the lightcycles, disc, owl with crown, the silhoutte guy next to a slab of concrete, wasp holding a gem, stone jogging, pink car with a D, balloons with people shooting at each other, golden big T, book with an R on the page... I'm at 46/56
#7 The flower in a pot- Flower
#8 The Bull R in the pages of a book ?
#15 The guy peeling off his face to reveal a skull- Faceoff
#23 The violin guys dueling- Crossbow
#29 The running rock ?
#32 Owl with a crown ?
#36 The clock split in half- Timesplitters
#50 Guy with his eyeball hanging out. -Popeye.
Huh, apparently there's a game called Balloon Fight.
---------- Post added at 06:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:48 AM ----------
I'm stuck on:
1. Owl with the crown
2. Running rock
3. Snake in a bowl
4. Bull and R on a page in a book
5. Guy with a star shirt in the lower left corner
[STRIKE]6. Tron guy on a roof[/STRIKE] Wait, this is apparently Discs of Tron.
The guys in the balloons have guns, but the game doesn't have any guns. There are balloons in the game, though. It's a Nintendo game, with gameplay very similar to the game with the silver knight in the upper right of the puzzle.
The guy is Bill Gates, and I'm not sure if the game is named after a movie or if it's just a coincidence it shares it's name with that film that spawned 3 spin-off TV series.

I ended up having to google those, just to satisfy my curiosity.
The owl one is a golf arcade game, and I've never connected an owl to this golf term in my mind. Too grand a bird for the diminutive.
The running rock is a game I've heard of, but never played. I even had to look it up to see what it is. It's had a lot of sequels though, and even been released on the iPhone, PSP, DS and XBLA. Anyway, it's name is <synonym for large rock> <synonym for a run>, and sounds like an exclamation of disbelief.
#32
Bowielee
A-thank you, I never heard of that first one, and I can't BELIEVE I didn't get that last one.
All done!

I can' finally go to bed now...

The pink D car and the prick with the star on his chest are the ones I can't figure.
Kevin Flynn was Jeff Bridges character in Tron. The whole site is in preparation for Tron 2.
#42
ThatNickGuy
Thanks, man. That's a much better explanation than "Tron".
#43
PatrThom
I got 40 without help (and I'm not even a gamer), up to 42 total, and then the page started ignoring anything I typed in. I might come back and finish it later.
It's a side-scrolling shooter, and you're so close it's hilarious.
#49
sixpackshaker
OK found it with the side scroll hint.
I can get the ones that were in the Arcade, or made it big on PC's. I just don't know Jack about console gaming.
#50
Frankie Williamson
R-Type was mainly an arcade game for quite a long time before hitting consoles and everything else.
#51
Bowielee
R-Type sucked so many quarters out of my pockets. Of course, I still remember playing Space Invaders in the arcade, unlike most of you whippersnappers
#52
Tinwhistler
Yeah, Defender came out a couple of years later.
Defender: Stargate was the sequel, and came out the next year. I am assuming this is the game referred to in the website, and not any game that was spun off from the Stargate movie/series.

Bubble181
I'm at 54....Dammit! Can't figure out the suicide jumper jumping out of the window, and the skateboarding guy on the left, off the ramp. Gah!
Want some hints? These aren't answers. Just hints.
Jumper:
maybe he's not jumping..maybe he's ____ing?
Skateboarder
Maybe count how many times he's gone around?
#55
Bubble181
Obviously, or I wouldn't have posted here :-P
#56
Tinwhistler
see above
you ninjad me as I was adding hints
#57
Bubble181
d'oh. Especially one of thse I should've known -_-
Also, since when is Halo a classic? That's NEW!
#58
Tinwhistler
if you consider a title that's almost 10 years old "new"
#59
figmentPez
Shadow of the Colossus came out in 2005, though. Not old enough to be a classic.
#60
PatrThom
It is classic enough to be a Classic, though.
--Patrick
(who remembers Ladybug, Qix, Scramble, Battlezone, Make Trax, Time Pilot, and dozens more...yes, even Biplane)
#61
Garbledina
Well that was a good time but I did horribly. Wouldn't have gotten past 12/56 without this thread.
#62
Bubble181
I dunno...Halo gets included, but Quake or Doom doesn't? I can understand no Wolfenstein as being too hard to show cryptically...But I was surprised at some games left off. I know, I know, I'm a pc gamer at heart, but...No Dune? That'd have been easy. Or Diablo...Well, I can keep it up. Plenty of easily-depicted classics not shown, and some games I didn't expect on there.
I mean, do you seriously place Halo on the same playing ground as Tron or Dig Dug?!
#63
Bowielee
To be fair, the site just says name the video game, it doesn't qualify it with "classic". Nor does it purport to be any sort of ranking of quality.
