I wanted to let you know what just happened and why we went down. It's sort of my fault.
I started getting error messages that our server was starting to run many, many, MANY processes that I hadn't set up. We're talking hundreds. I immediately logged on to my WebHost Panel and started killing processes as fast as they popped up. I upgraded my firewall and started port blocking where the processes were hitting. I then did a graceful reboot of the whole shebang to sever any currently running processes or connections.
Turns out the host was trying to run an upgrade. It was supposed to go behind the scenes but because of the error checking I set up I got the messages that something was going down. My killing and blocking their stuff basically roached their upgrade, which took us totally down until they reran everything.
So....it was sort of my fault, but it's all good now.
