I built a PC for my mother. But the DVD drive only came with a trail-ware player. Can any of you cats recommend a good download DVD player?

I just use VLC. Don't know how it compares to other software, but it gets the job done.

VLC is a great answer. And it plays a lot different formats than a few of the other players out there. Plus it's free, so there's that.

Also Windows Media Player, or Windows Media Player Classic (which I recommend along side CCCP).

IIRC, win XP's media player didn't have default codex's built in for playing DVDs, so I'd recommend VLC.
