So how was YOUR long weekend?

#1

Dave

Dave

Ours was pretty uneventful. We were supposed to be going to Colorado, but my wife's mom got sick (she's fine) so we couldn't go. We ended up just staying in and doing not much.

I played lots of WoW, am rereading the Harry Potter series, and just relaxed. I ended up getting less sleep than I do during the work week so I think I'm doing something wrong.

So how was your long weekend (assuming you had one).

Well, my neighborhood made the national news for the worst reason. Otherwise, pretty uneventful.

Weekend? What weekend? My work week *started* on Thursday, and just ended. :p

I worked all weekend.
Got paid quite a bit extra for Mon, though.

We also had a long weekend. We couldn't go anywhere because my wife and daughter were sick, but at least I slept a lot.

Man, you just can't catch a break.

Wait. What did I miss. Was this the tornado?

No, the shooting.
He didn't like it.

Yeah, I just saw his post in the Random Thread and looked it up in the news. Whoa.[DOUBLEPOST=1464704753,1464704735][/DOUBLEPOST]Houston is so small. I thought it couldn't happen here!

I think I'm missing a reference. Houston is the 3rd or 4th largest city in the US (depending on which list you read).

I pretty much did nothing, which was exactly what I wanted to do.

Spent most of the weekend alternating between trying to clean house and vegging out, because I can't seem to clean for more than 15 minutes straight. But I'm making progress. The living room is pretty much taken care of, and I'm halfway done with the kitchen. I hope to have the place good enough for someone else to see it by friday.

That's the joke. People always say this after a tragedy.

I already mentioned the food truck fest as my Minor Victory, and Sunday we went to a friend's barbecue and ate and drank way too much again. So Monday, mostly because it was humid and rainy, we spent the day doing very little and eating very little. My legs felt like they were made out of lead this morning at kick boxing, but 10/10, would do weekend again.

It was pretty good. A little rainy, but not horrible. We went camping with our 3 month old for the first time. That was an experience...

I worked all weekend, but since my A/C broke on Saturday, and no one would come out to repair it until Tuesday, I was ok with that.

What do you mean, you won't come out during the weekend unless it's an emergency? IT'S SUMMER IN FLORIDA, THAT'S AN EMERGENCY!

Did some work on the back patio overhang (wood needed to be replaced in parts), but outside of that not a whole lot. Slept in, played some games, made a good dinner on Monday.

Worked Saturday. Spent Sunday doing the 3rd most adult thing I've ever done (4th if you count a refinance) - dropped a buttload of money on a new bed. Spent Monday smoking a pork shoulder for the family cookout last night. Today I'm sleeping it off.

Good weekend

Yeah, well, I just cut a commercial for Gander Mountain, so I feel extra outdoorsy right now.

Just, you know, not the "I'm actually going to sleep outside" outdoorsy.

I've had a loooooong weekend since the 16th, thanks to my employer saying I'm not fit for work.

But I had a nice time with the family on Sunday.

Took my wife to the hospital on Monday for a colonoscopy. We joked that another man got to do butt stuff with her before I did.

Also, the colonoscopy turned out fine, which was good.

I always laughed when we took my wife to the gyn--her doctor's name was Dr. Finger :D

When I got my vasectomy and was under the partial anesthesia, I realized the doctor's name anagrammed to "nut seezer". He thought this was hilarious, too, which was scary considering he was holding a scalpel near the boys.

Long weekend away with the family in law. Some nice long walks, nice place, etc. But Lord am I glad I don't have kids. 4 4-to-8-year-olds wanting to use me as a trampoline/climbing rack/playmate/what-have-you is enough. Give me my space and quiet time!
but fun, really.

Funny how that works right? On workdays I can barely get out of bed. On weekends and days I have a fun activity planned, I'm up at the crack ass of dawn.

I got food poisoning friday night. Honestly thought I was going to die until about Sunday. Now, Wednesday, I'm starting to get some semblance of strength back. Also, I'm now 21 pounds lighter. Easily the most painful crash diet in history.

Now for the big question. Do you keep it off? Or put it back?

Spent the weekend at an Atlanta convention as a vacation, except conventions are sort of stressful for me so that was a bad idea. Then wife's grandma died, so Monday and Tuesday were spent on the road to and from Florida (14 hours of travel altogether), doing funeral arrangements and such.

I got to have fresh fish for the first time in over a year, though, which is nice.

My ex just got a couple of feet of bowel removed after having to be tube fed and..."emptied"... for 2 weeks straight; she's lost about 45 pounds in two weeks. I'm fairly sure she'd disagree :p

Pedantry aside, hugs and well wishes :/
