So you screwed up.

So we're all bound to mess up. Me? I got a canister of Pringles from the administration with a sign that said "Thanks for chipping in". They do that for every teacher who gives to the school's annual fund. I ate so many of them that I think I might die.

So thirsty. My penance will be cardio.
And water. Lots of it. Jesus those chips are wonderfully salty.

Confess your fitness sins, make it right, and then carry on here!

Today for lunch I ate a personal veggie pizza and a side of onion rings. I knew I should have just stuck with the pizza but I hadn't had onion rings in ages and they just sounded so freaking good today. My penance for today will not involve any cardio but it does involve my work stressing the crap out of me and me pulling my hair out in frustration.

I'm pretty sure this bag of Peanut M&M's in front of me is just disappearing on it's own accord.

I generally think of them less as screw ups and more enjoying the fruits of my labors.

However, I did somewhat recently gain 5-10 lbs due to junk food and indolence, which I've thankfully mostly lost.

Ben and Jerry's delicious, delectable, and delightfully tasty Greek frozen yogurt in blueberry vanilla graham and strawberry shortcake. I had some of the strawberry one a few nights ago. Blueberry is singing to me for later.
Also Cheese!

There's a difference, though.

I always leave room to enjoy snacks that I enjoy during the week. Maybe not every day, but I don't deny myself. Going overboard would be going wayyyy outside the parameters that you set for yourself. Sometimes we *do* do that on purpose, like when we go out for a huge steak dinner as a special treat. This thread is mainly for those data when you're doing really well and then you completely break the calorie bank when you didn't mean/want to.

I loooove their frozen Greek yogurt! I can only get the single serving cups when I buy it. It's too good!

I wish I could get single serving cups here. I can only get it in pints. Which means it calls to me from the freezer, begging me to just have one little taste, making promises that can't be kept. *sobs*

If I manage to stay up to opening time today, I'm getting a little bacon cheeseburger, all the way, and a regular order of Cajun fries.

And I will feel no shame. :D

I do think my homemade pizza yesterday evening might've been overdoing it a bit. Started off alright with fresh vegetables and whatever, but the last one was emmental-feta-mozzarella-goat cheese-gruyere-horse cheese. Just a tad overboard :p

So much for that. 40 minutes before my weekend was supposed to start I get asked to go in tonight. So it's bed before food. :(

Ugh, a few days ago I went on a furious binge eating 3 BBQ'd 1/3 lb cheeseburgers and 2 hot dogs. It was sooooooooo good though. My wife bought me some really good gluten free buns and I just couldn't resist making cheeseburgers (as a celiac I don't often have good options for things like hot dog and hamburger buns).

Then I ate ice cream lol.

Even though I'm not drinking, I found myself at a cheap mexican place eating quesadillas at 11PM last night. Did a core workout and ran a mile at the gym to make up for it today.

Pocky.... apparently you don't HAVE to eat the whole box all at once (they're so small though).

Really though, that was the only junk I got when I went grocery shopping this week. So given my previous dietary habits, I'm pretty pleased with myself.

Project for this week, learn how to cook lentils. If anyone has some good recipes, send them my way.

Chemo and medication are pretty much fucking up my sense of taste, leaving me with a sense that everything tastes like it's been sugar-coated. Which in turn makes eating anything savory an exercise in suppressing my gag reflex.

Strawberries work wonders these days, but unfortunately I also eat a good deal of sweets just so I won't live on water alone.

Do you want lentils by themselves or in something else? I have a recipe for lentil soup and another for a moussaka-style vegetarian dish that has lentils in it if you're interested in either one.

Anything at this point. I've never even tried them before and with how cheap they are, there was no point in NOT trying them.

Neither one of these is authentic in any sense of the word. The lentil soup recipe was originally a slow cooker recipe someone gave me that I've tweaked for the stove. You might need to play with the amount of broth depending on how liquid-y you like your soup.

2 c. lentils
1 - 1 1/2 c. diced ham
1 T. olive oil
1 c. chopped onion
2 ribs celery, chopped
1/2 c. diced carrots
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 - 2 quarts of broth (vegetable or chicken)
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste

Rinse and drain lentils. Heat olive oil in a large pot on medium heat. Saute onion, carrots, celery for about a minute. Add garlic and saute until all vegetables are tender. Add broth, lentils and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 35 -40 minutes on low.
If you use a slow cooker, use 2 quarts of broth.Put all the ingredients in the crockpot and cook on low for 8-10 hours.

I'll post the vegetable moussaka-style dish later. It has a lot of ingredients and instructions, but it is a simple and really delicious dish.

Tostaditas + Salsa, Nachos, Buttery Popcorn, Coke+Dr. Pepper+Mountain Dew+ Parmesan Cheese

I went a little nuts at a foreign supermarket.

Chinese food is something awesome but give a guy a break.

Went to Island's Burgers with Mr. Wasabi for a lunch date. I had a Malibu burger with fries and a strawberry lemonade. Plus an iced Nutty Hawaiian coffee from Honolulu Coffee Co. for dessert. It was soooo good. And now that it's dinner time here I am still not hungry in the least.

I went to the Keg the other day with a couple of carnivorous buddies. Me and another friend ordered the off the menu Keg-a Mega sized prime rib. They clock in at about 24 oz of meat slab. We also ordered appetizers beforehand. When we had finished gorging the waitress, clearly disgusted at the gluttony, was like, "Hey, look at that, you guys at the whole thing." Sure did. My sweat smelled like iron.

As I said before, most people have their own parameters, and within those parameters could be a day to go nuts. But if you go further than you intended and feel discouraged, this is the place to talk about it. I had a weekend splurge yesterday that I didn't regret afterwards.

Having a cheat day or meal is a wonderful thing guys. This prevents binging.
I'm very glad to hear this. I've thought about setting something like this up so the wife and I have something to look forward to. But ins't that kinda considered a binge?

It's only binging if you do it for longer than a day, or SERIOUSLY go nuts with it...

That being said, I made a oops... My wife picked up some cookie dough ice cream the other day, forgetting that she can't have it now. Thus, I threw myself on the pint in order to help her out. (Although, to be fair, I didn't have the whole thing - just half, but still...)

Combining that with the fact that I overslept this morning and didn't get to go running before work... yeah... feeling larger than usual. *headwheel*

I think it would depend on if you take it to mean you just don't watch what you eat or if you make it a total free for all. Go out to eat at your favorite restaurant and order whatever you want vs. eating all day like you haven't seen food in 20 years.
