Samurai Pizza Cats

Who wins? Why?

Go.

The Swat Kats. They're a radical squadron, apparently despite only having one aircraft.

I'll also accept Dilbert Pinkerton for a write-in answer.

That is exactly why it's so radical.

I do. I win because I never watched any of them.

The turtles because they were deconstructing Teen Titans and X-Men and Ninjas...

While the rest were derivative of the turtles.

If you say anything other than the Ninja Turtles, then you are wrong, but I shall respect your right to hold an incorrect opinion. Because the Ninja Turtles were pure awesome in a half shell.

We should now debate which turtle was best.

The original black and white TMNT comics were actually quasi-parody/homages to Miller's Daredevil. The cartoons were then, true to 80's cartoons, there to sell toys.

Psh, that's easy. Leonardo. Next!

If you're playing the NES game, then it's clearly Donatello.

No way. It depends on which instance of the turtles we're talking about ... Comics, 80s cartoon, 2000s cartoon, live action movie... but in none of those does Leonardo win.

Heroes in a half shell... turtle power!

And Leonardo rules.

I have a fondness for Biker Mice from Mars. Out of the four it was the only one I watched more than like, 8 episodes of (which was a lot when I was a kid). So for nostalgia's sake my vote goes to them.

Raphael gets no love on this board?! WTF. I thought I could trust y'alls opinion on stuff.[DOUBLEPOST=1354895648][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, the original Biker Mice cartoon was amazing. It had the most rockin' cartoon theme song ever made.

#25

Wahad

Wahad

Agreed. I'm pretty sure that theme song was part of the reason I got into metal later on.

The original Biker Mice from Mars ally with the Gargoyles and beat the living crap out of everyone else.

#27

Gargoyles is tipping the scales a bit in this discussion. It's just making it unfair. If you bring in Gargoyles, we have to start including Batman:TAS.

And Batman always wins, no matter what the context.

Anyway, I have to admit that most of those shows were kind of past my time. I was already feeling like I was too old for toys and cartoons by the time the Turtles really became popular.

This was also before I decided that I will never be too old for cartoons and toys.

Isn't it weird how kids go through that phase? At some point, anything kids stuff is uncool, and you won't have anting to do with it. And then you start to grow up for reals, and realize that's stupid.

Gargoyles, though... That was such a good cartoon. Even as a kid, I thought Goliath and Elise (was that her name?) should just fuck and get it over with.

Honestly? Probably the best thing to come from Disney ever.

I used to get up at like 6 am when I was in college to watch gargoyles... deathly afraid my roommate would wake up and catch me.

It took a lot of time, but my family no longer wonders, why I, a 29-year-old man, watch cartoons (Avatar: The Last Airbender) or read comic books (Watchmen, Maus). Or at least they've stopped asking...

#36

ThatNickGuy

I never had a phase where cartoons were too kiddie or uncool to watch.

Then again, I never stopped being a huge nerd and didn't give a rats ass about my cool rating. :p

Just to check, y'all are aware that all of Gargoyles is streaming on Disney, right?

Samurai Pizza Cats are my nostalgia win. I watched it every morning at 7:00am before school.

I'm fairly sure I also watched every episode of Street Sharks a few times over, but I think I could have taken or left it. I remember it being the only cartoon on any local channel in that time slot.

TMNT and BMfM are both properties I missed out on as I never had access to channels they aired on growing up. The basic antenna reception in the high desert area was incredibly limited at the time. Fox broadcasts didn't even reach us.

I just looked it up... um... yeah...

The Samurai Pizza Cats?

Let's face it: dumber things have existed. Also, as the narrator correctly asserts, they've got more fur than any turtle ever had.
