You know what? I love that movie. It has a special place in mine and my wife's heart and is often a go-to movie for us.Tangled is getting an animated series in 2017 on the Disney Channel.

Yeah, the version of Chernabog who appeared in Once Upon a Time was pretty neutered. A nice reference, but about as much "Night on Bald Mountain" as a mouse-eared topiary is Steamboat Willie.Modern Disney wouldn't have the balls to do that short segment today, let alone entire film based on it. I have zero faith in this project.
I know, and they've reunited the people who made the movie, etc. I still don't trust it.Animated, not live-action. Their animated stuff is usually much better than the live-action cookie-cutter shows.
What I've seen still holds up pretty well, as it's done just as you say with the villain-of-the-week. Iago got a little grating, but Genie's a bit more toned-down as it's Dan Castalenetta, not Williams, doing the voice.Tangled is ripe for an "adventure of the week" kind of show. Could be fine. As a child I remember enjoying the Alladin TV series (haven't watched it as an adult, may have been crap), so IMO it seems possible to do an OK job of it.
And more of the horse could be hilarious.
The new name will be the 3rd name it has had. Disney-MGM Studios was first, and it 2008 changed to Disney's Hollywood Studios. How many names has that park gone through now? [emoji14]
The Backlot Tour attraction has already been shut down, Sounds Dangerous has been shuttered for years, American Idol has gone idle. Rumors are Lights, Motors, Action! may close and make way for the expansion of the Pixar Place with the addition of Radiator Springs Racers and persistent rumors of a Monsters Inc based ride. Also rumored is an expansion of the presence of Star Wars in the park.It seems like the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park is undergoing a major shake-up.
Firstly, there's news that the park will be getting a new name. Secondly, they've announced that The Magic of Disney Animation and Walt Disney: One Man's Dream will be closing their doors. This has begun some to start speculating on other attractions that may be on the chopping block. Whatever may happen, it seems like there may be big change coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Certainly a lot of changes and updates happening around the Disney World resort. For me, I reported on what's been happening with Disney's Hollywood Studios because, if they end up closing down as much as some speculate or rumor, then that's a lot of potential attraction space that they'll get in the park and a lot of overall change. The Backlot Tour attraction has already been shut down, Sounds Dangerous has been shuttered for years, American Idol has gone idle. Other news has Disney Quest, at Downtown Disney (or Disney Springs as it is changing into), being closed and changed to the NBA Experience. Personally, not a good move, I have no interest in that. I know that ABC/ESPN has the contract with the NBA, but this just doesn't feel like a good fit to me.
Animal Kingdom is under huge amounts of construction with the addition of Avatar-land where Camp Minnie-Mickey used to be and the addition of a nighttime water/light show probably along the same technology line as World of Color at California Adventure.
Magic Kingdom is finishing up the expansion of the central hub area in front of Cinderella's Castle and building/remodeling a new Pirate's themed restaurant.
Epcot is currently the least under construction, only thing happening is the re-imagining of Maelstrom into a Frozen based ride in the Norway Pavilion and the building of a new building to house the Frozen meet-n-greet and new restrooms.
Most likely. D23 Expo seems like a good time to tackle what exactly is happening with Disney's Hollywood Studios.I was just kinda laying it all out in one post. Well, really I was just responding with a little more and it kinda snowballed...
I'm curious to see what is announced at D23 Expo in a couple of weeks, guessing it will be there for them to confirm or deny all the speculation.
Helena Bonham Carter? *shrug*I wonder how they will characterize Mad Madam Mim?

I would've probably gone with someone like Hudson Leick.Helena Bonham Carter? *shrug*
The movie became such a black sheep of theirs I'd be amazed to see it get even a BluRay release. If they're going to do a live action fantasy movie, I'd prefer to see The Black Cauldron.
DisneySo, another live-action remake is on its way:
‘Sword in the Stone’ Live-Action Remake in Development With ‘Game of Thrones’ Writer
...You know what? Among the various things Disney seems geared to doing live-action versions of, this is one I could get behind. So, another live-action remake is on its way:

They bought the Carousel Inn before we went to Disneyland in May, so not sure why they're including that property in this report. I honestly don't see them tearing down the hotel to build something else. It's a very narrow strip that sits between two other hotels, and has a six lane boulevard between it and the "mainland" of DL/CA.It was also reported today that they bought about three parcels of land around Disneyland recently, which is also speculated to be involved with plans to add more Star Wars and Marvel related attractions.
