That is a good one. I used it for a while on my netbook. Too bad you have to pay for the high res versions.

Yeah, I hate that you have to pay for high res for it. I've been thinking of just making a vectored version of it in illustrator so I can get any resolution I want.

Just generic wallpaper here. Never see my desktop, so never saw a reason to bother.
Pluck out your eyes, then. They are HDR after all, and simply looking around the room gives the same effect...

Only if you're on acid
(The way HDR is generally abused, that is)

Very, very true. Too many aspiring photographers use HDR as a means to make their photos pop, rather than a means to bring up the detail in the shadows and highlights.
Apparently he was the first photographer to have an HDR photo in the Smithsonian, which is pretty cool. I only recently learned what HDR photography is, so while I've probably seen it, I haven't really 'realized' what I was looking at and don't feel overexposed to it. I really love his stuff. Picking out 30 favourites was fun, and it gives me a nice variety on my desktop.

Yeah, when I first learned about HDR I was all 'FUCK THIS IS AAAAWESOME!' After you've seen your hundredth glowing building, though, the magic tends to subside.
