Pluck out your eyes, then. They are HDR after all, and simply looking around the room gives the same effect...Holy HDR, Batman. He actually uses it to pretty good effect, but man, I'm tired of seeing it.
Apparently he was the first photographer to have an HDR photo in the Smithsonian, which is pretty cool. I only recently learned what HDR photography is, so while I've probably seen it, I haven't really 'realized' what I was looking at and don't feel overexposed to it. I really love his stuff.
