The Road to Wrestlemania

One thing I've been enjoying about Daniel Bryan is he's been fairly clean. Granted he usually tries and leave halfway through the match, he's won quite a few matches cleanly.

  • Shawn Michaels is the special guest referee for the Hell in Cell match at Wrestlemania.
  • and the middle aged HBK is not happy with his former partner in shenanigans Triple H.
  • Santino Marrella is the new United States Champion!
  • John Laurenitis is kicked out of the building by Teddy Long
  • The Rock Litters!
  • John Cena speaks to an empty arena
  • Eve Whorres defeats Alicia Fox, WOO! WOO! WOO! Zack Ryders back, mad at Eve
  • Eve kisses Zack backstage?! Zack's back on her hook?
  • Teddy Long's running Raw and that means a Tag Team match for the main event.
  • CM Punk and Sheamus, against Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho. It's a Wrestlemania preview
  • The Miz jobs to the Big Show
  • Kane crushes R-Truth, and Randy Orton is glad to be back!
  • Cena cuts a promo,
  • but the Rock cuts in!
  • Cena wins over the Boston crowd, frankly out talking a rusty Rock.

The Rock needs to go away. By appearing in back to back RAWs he is already stale. He is there to help turn Cena heel, and I am starting to no longer care.

  • Word Life! The Doctor of Thuganomics came out in his vintage gear and busted up some rhymes.
  • It's not showing off if you loose to the Great White (Sheamus defeats Dolph Ziggler, good match nasty whelt).
  • Your United States Champion Santino will be captaining Team Long against Captain David Otunga of Team Lauranitis (featuring Mark Henry).
  • FUNKASAURUS IN DAH HOUSE!!
  • Miz wants a spot on the card at wrestlemania, needs to beat CM Punk to earn a spot on Johnny Ace's team.
  • CM Punk beats the Miz
  • Jericho appears on screen after, and tells the world why Punk is Straight Edge, afraid of becoming an alcoholic like his father. Y2J says he will beat Punk so hard it will drive him to drink.
  • Randy Orton defeats Jack Swagger, goes to celebrate and failed to notice Kane's pyro had been set up. They go off, lights go down, Kane doesn't show.
  • Rock Concert. Dwayne still can't stay in character, and manages to accuse Cena of adultery.

Tonight is the last Raw before Wrestlemania...and I have no clue what's on the card. So yea.

PSA: There is a Rock and Cena Documentary/special airing on USA before Raw, so if you're like me and don't normally watch live you'll want to adjust your DVR if interested.

Seriously, if I was there in Atlanta listening to the Rock, I would be chanting

"Same Old Shit."
=clap clap clap clap clap=

I think the best part was when he finally said why he even wants to do this match in the first place. I didnt like the way it went off the air though, felt a bit weak.

This isn't an April Fools joke: Brock Lesner has signed back with WWE for a year. His deal is apparently to work dates than, say, Taker, but less than what Goldberg worked with them. And he's in Florida tonight. So is Batista.

Cena
Taker
Jericho
Sheamus
Team Teddy
Big Show
Beth/Eve
Kane
Usos

My favorite part was the ridiculously long Deadliest Catch skit.

Or the fact that the cell had a longer entrance than the entrances and match of Bryan/Sheamus.

That whole show was pretty dreadful.

I sure as hell didn't. Though I chose to hold out until seeing at least one of the other big matches (Taker/HHH, Rock/Cena, Punk/Jericho), I strongly considered shutting it off after that bullshit. Not only was it a world title match, starring a Royal Rumble winner, but it was with two of their top guys who were screwed out of a WM match last year. They were scheduled on the card and then bumped off to be an untelevised dark match.

That said, Taker/HHH and Punk/Jericho definitely delivered.

Rock/Cena? Not so much. They hyped it so much that the build up made it feel like it would be on the same epic level as some of the greatest, most memorable WrestleMania matches of all time. And it was just...good. It was a good, solid match with nothing really wrong with it. But there was nothing about it that made it feel special or memorable.

Aside from Taker/HHH and Punk/Jericho, this was a horrible, horrible WrestleMania.

It needed more Brotus Clay and the racist (WWE has no black people in their creative department) dancers.

And white rapper/cancer patients.

And rappers.

And Deadliest Catch.

That was the first wrestling I've watched in a very long time. I definitely won't be repeating that mistake. Even Punk/Jericho only got good in the last couple of minutes.

What was with Beth Phoenix's headgear?

Strangely okay with the opening match, as I look forward to Daniel Bryan working to get it back, and getting to see Sheamus defend it. It's also a pretty funny April fools joke.

Undertaker and Triple H was excellent.

CM Punk vs Jericho was good

Team Teddy and Team Johnny should have been an elimination tag match. Great spots by Ziggler and Ryder. I actually wish more time was spent building up these teams and the GM feud. I loved the division and they way they were doing "The Official X of Team Y" with everything.

Flo Rida performing "good feeling" (his first of 2 songs) was approximately 13.7 Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan matches.

Rock vs Cena was decent match, with just a really odd ending. There was no way it was ever going to live up to the buildup though..
