[Other] The SCP Wiki

www.scp-wiki.net

I found this site a while ago, but--remembering we have quite a few writers on the site who enjoy CreepyPasta--I thought I'd post it here in case anybody hadn't seen it yet. It's a collection of in-universe documentation of anomalous/supernatural creatures, artifacts and phenomenon. In addition to that, it has one of the best (and most active) communities I've seen in regards to constructive criticism.

Some of my favorites:

http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1905 (Dino Hunter Model 6)

http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-993 (Bobble the Clown)

Ah, okay. The backstory of the site is there's an entity--The Foundation--that's aware of the existence of supernatural phenomena, creatures, etc. and actively suppresses knowledge of their existence while seeking to contain and study them. The articles themselves are case studies/histories of the objects in question, and are generated by users (anyone's free to make one, but it has to pass muster to remain on the main list). It's not for everyone, but I find the dry, technical writing really drives home the creepiness/otherworldliness of a lot of these articles (as well as it being a challenge to craft a good story in a technical document).

The idea is that people are writing technical data on fictional monsters, and how best to deal with each monster or monster type. The site presents it all factually, but it's a sort-of-x-files for people who enjoy making stuff up and reading made up stuff.
