Is there something I can use that would make reading Tumblr so much better? It's no secret that Tumblr looks like shit with crap all over the place. Is there something I can do to be able to read it easier?

I have 1-2 pages, I really like but I can't be bothered to read much before getting SEVERELY annoyed.

Almost every custom theme on Tumblr is an unusable piece of dreck. The default dashboard isn't horrible though, so subscribe to the people you want to follow?

This. I just look at everyone I follow via the endless scrolling dashboard. I don't visit any specific pages anymore.

Do you use Feedly or another RSS reader? Because you can get a feed of a specific tumblog. It won't fix the nesting horrors, but will make the style line up with your feed reader's style. Plus they're full article feeds.

I'd almost forgotten about that option. It has a few drawbacks, though. First, it doesn't include the tags (and, depending on who you follow, they may say a lot in the tags). Second, if the person changes their URL, then your feed won't keep up with that or even make note of it. Third, the feed can be significantly delayed, or have posts out of order, from the activity on Tumblr, which may or may not matter. Lastly, sometimes formatting gets messed up, especially with photosets, but you can always follow the link to the actual post if something looks weird.
