Two Nerds Fell in Love

So, I had the idea to have edible geeky wedding favors that featured the interests of both [user]General Specific[/user] and myself. I was having some trouble with ideas and wondered if anyone had suggestions. I'll list the stuff I've found so far.

Harry Potter:
1. Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans (Jelly Beans)
2. Chocolate frogs
3. Pumpkin pasties (pumpkin tarts)
4. Licorice wands
5. Cockroach Clusters (butterscotch haystacks)
6. Acid pops (tootsie pops)


Star Wars was a bit harder to do.


These were also meant to be kid friendly since we have 7 little ones in our family at the moment. Any advice or recipes would be appreciated!

Yeah, I showed the General ONE page on Star Wars theme weddings and all the sudden he's excited about planning stuff!

We're deciding on a venue this summer once we visit some places in the mountains. June 6, 2015 is the definite date! Yes, it gives me two years to budget and make a timeline. In case you couldn't tell, I'm the kind of person who likes to do things ahead of time and not worry at the last minute.

If you're going for the Harry Potter theme, don't ever get the real (official) Bertie Botts jelly beans.. I went to an expo once with some friends and they had them at the shop. We were curious as to how real the simulated taste was of all those flavors.

It's real alright. Then again, maybe we shouldn't have started out with the vomit flavored one...

I've actually had these before and the vomit flavored one traumatized be for life. I'm thinking of going with a less nausea inducing spread.

I should also mention that I'm having an Alice's Adventures in Wonderland mega-themed bridal shower. I've been a huge fan since I was a kid and have done a lot of research on the adaptations and interpretations of Carroll's novels and writings. It's only proper that I go all out. :)

Today, I had a conversation with the General that included the phrase, "I am not doing this wedding stuff in 12 months. So, everyone else, including [user]Dave[/user], can strap their flappy hooties down and wait the two years!"

Recently, a friend of mine gave me the idea to do funny RSVP card wording and said she wouldn't forgive me if we didn't. Being the unconventional lady that I am, I knew this bride would oblige. I came up with the following:

Yes
____I will be there with wand at the ready.
____I will be there with lightsaber in hand.

No
____I am sorry, but I must send my owl back with regrets. No howlers, please!
____I am sorry, but I fear IT’S A TRAP! May the force be with you from afar.

Any other ideas to add to this?

UPDATE on the wording. We've finalized it! Some things had to be cut because of the limitations on character count.

We're ordering send and seal invitations (not stuffing!!), which require an envelope seal/sticker. I really want to have ones made that have a crossed wand and lightsaber. Does anyone know someone who could come up with the graphic? :D
