This is pretty interesting stuff. I guess this could take off in other places where advertisers can have similar code on their public ads (like in subway, train, taxi, bus stops or just newspaper) where people can snap it, order it, pay for it, and have it deliver/pickup.

This is kinda cool. I can see it beyond grocery (in the article) Maybe something that Amazon might do ;)

I worry about grocery delivery... it'd be yet again one less reason for me to leave the house, if I didn't have to occasionally go get groceries.

Yea is a downside for the anti-social. It could create the "basement dwellers" where people just stay home all day and never come out since everything can be order and delivered to your doorstep.

The only reasons I go out currently:

Work (If I could work from home, I would. Obviously)
Groceries (Could be solved by this article)
Clothing shopping (Ordering online will never compare to how something will look on me in person)
To get laid (Probably never going to have a "live-in" again, but if I got so rich I could afford daily escorts? I'd consider it)

Other than that, I can't really think of anythingelse I leave the house for these days....

It doesn't sound like this is supposed to be used for ordering groceries at home. It's a billboard in a public place like the subway with a bunch of QR codes you can scan. Sounds more like something you'd use if you are busy and just want a few items, as opposed to doing all your shopping. I'd probably use it.

As for clothing, I think there was a software a while back where it will "scan you" (either in the store or home) and you can "try on" dresses virtually. See how it look on you. I remember posting it awhile back I think (I knew I read it)

Here is one site that you can enter your measurments

This is kinda what I was talking about

It can tell me all it wants, until I physically see it on? I won't know if I like it.

Sometimes it looks amazing on the hanger, and shit on the body.

Agreed Shego most of us need to try on and see how things fit or look. Was at a store last week and in the same brand took a different size in every item I tried on. I'm out constantly between work (much of mine is done at other people's sites, at one right now), kids' activities, running around with the dog and dammit I would just rather be outside in the sun on a soccer field or fishing or hanging with family & friends and playing with cars, boats or planes than stuck indoors but I still like this idea since you can spot an ad and immediately see if the product or place is something you want or need. I see it as helpful. Especially to those of us with short attention spans and shorter memory!
