I know not many of you may remember/know Static X, but this guy provided much of the soundtrack to 1999 for 20 year old me. No official word on cause of death, but rumor mill says drugs.

Saw the report but didn't recognize the name. Watching those, I recognize the video for the first one, but not the music.
Those 90's, man. What a raucous time.

Huh. I never knew there was someone named Static. Not a big fan, obviously, but still I liked the music.

I'm dreading the day one of Rush meets Brazelton.

Found out about this last night, huge bummer. Wisconsin Death Trip was the first really heavy, fast metal album I owned, and I fucking loved it. I still think it's a great record.

Wasn't his real name. He changed it when he went solo, as apparently there were issues with the ownership of the name "Static-X" that prevented him from continuing to use it for his band.

He's been Wayne Static since he founded Static-X. The name thing was an issue between him and the bassist, which eventually caused the permanent breakup in 2013 (they rotated members around a few times prior to that, though).

I saw these guys open up for Fear Factory at Bogarts in Cincy. I'd never hear of them before and ended up walking out of there with their CD. First time I'd ever done that.

RIP Wayne
