I'm completely bored tonight so I thought I would create a debate thread mua ha ha ha ha.

Which series did you prefer: Lethal Weapon or Die Hard?

Die Hard and Die Hard II are both awesome while, the series gets worse from there on in. While Lethal Weapon is good then gets rather overdone quickly.

Hmmm, I'd have to go with Die Hard just because of the Christmas themes and Reginald VelJohnson.

Also Alan Rickman makes any movie uber win.

Die Hard is better than Lethal Weapon but I liked Lethal Weapon 2 better than Die Hard 2. Die Hard 3 was better than Lethal Weapon 3 while Lethal Weapon 4 was slightly less terrible than Die Hard 4.

I think I got that straight.

While Lethal Weapon was a cool flick Die Hard rocked the joint. The dickish FBI agents, Han's "Oh god, you're one of them!", running over the broken glass, so many great moments. John McCain for the win.

I know I know but it would have been a lot cooler if it was.

Apples to oranges. I'd watch Die Hard again. Lethal Weapon... hmm no. Also, I had no idea about Alan Rickman.

That's pretty much it. I thoroughly enjoy both franchises, although I give the nod to Die Hard for the awesomeness that is Rickman. He's British!

It's unfair to compare Lethal Weapon to Die Hard.

It should be Die Hard vs. Aliens 2 or Terminator 2 and Lethal Weapon vs. Roadhouse or 48 Hours.

The first is non stop action the second is a buddy flick with some kick ass scenes.

Haven't seen any of the Die Hard movies. Will remedy the situation.

Didn't like the Lethal Weapon movies, though... something about Mel Gibson just irks me.

Lethal Weapon is actually a great movie, although just an okay series. Roadhouse flat out sucks, and 48 Hours is also pretty good. Lethal Weapon vs Beverly Hills Cop I think would be a more fair fight.

I agree with that. I loved the fact that Riggs wife died at the hands of a drunk driver. Thought it was a great senseless death that the audience could relate to. I hated the second movie when they changed that. And, as much as I enjoyed the first movie, the ending has always bothered me. They know Mr. Joshua is heading to Murtaugh's home. So what do they do? Let a patrol car coast by and sacrafice a couple of expendible cops. Then when they get Mr. Joshua in custody they decide it would be better to have a royal rumble in the front yard. As if a group of cops are going to allow this to happen. I'm not against a slug fest in the front yard but why do if after you have Mr. Joshua in custody?
