What is the greatest rock song ever?

While discussing what to put on her iPod, my daughter declared that she wanted "the best rock song ever", and then asked me what it was. My mind a blur of rock, and to be honest, I froze.

So, figuring this wouldn't be too contentious a topic (heh), I put it to you, and to the forum at large: what is the greatest rock song ever?

Charlie Don't Surf

Freebird, Born to Run, Heart- Magic Man, Master of Puppets would all be contenders for me.

In no particular order

Radar Love - Golden Earring
Johnny B. Goode
Let it Be - If you stop it before the last minute.
Born to be Wild
Satisfaction, Paint it Black
Sunshine of Your Love
Whiter Shade of Pale
Anarchy in the U.K.

Too hard of a question to give objective answers to

Hardest, fastest, most powerful rock song that doesn't have a lame, slow intro is Judas Priest - Painkiller

I think the tribute to the greatest song in the world is the closest we will ever get. If only they'd remembered how it went!

I told you fucks the greatest song is Stairway to Heaven. There is no point is suggesting otherwise. GOOD DAY!

If I asked for the greatest rock song i would want something fast and, you know, rocking. Stairway may be an awesome song but it wouldnt fit what I wanted.

Mr. Loaf has a great set of pipes, but I just don't think that his songs hold up as Greatest.

I believe most discussions of this sort come down to Stairway to Heaven and Bohemian Rhapsody. They are the Coke/Pepsi, Windows/Mac, Domestic/Import, Baked/Fried representatives of Rock.

If you have a loaf in your private chamber, I have no interest in seeing it, much less having a word with it.

No one ever mentions this song, but it's fucking awesome.

Disconnected

"For what it's worth"
fun fact -Stills reportedly wrote the song in reaction to escalating unrest between law enforcement and young club-goers related to the closing of Pandora's Box, a club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California

"School Day" - Chuck Berry

"Takin' Care of Business" (the canadian in me requires I include this in every music list.)

Stairway and Rhapsody get all the glory for being epic rock songs, but there's at least a couple more that deserve the 'epic' title.

Edit: Kati would like to add the following...

I would recommend the radio edit of Wicker Man by Iron Maiden (it's just a much tighter song).
