I certainly wasn't upset by the video. I just found it, well, pointless. I know what Gas' purpose was, I just think it made him look even more like a caricature.

Naturally. But the fourth poster onward....they are the jaded ones. They never care about a topic, and just post out of boredom. It's those first three guys who are hard core.

Didn't you know that The Krisken has a team of psychics on constant rotation, scanning the space-time continuum with their minds, waiting for a disturbance which indicates that someone is going to post a radically partisan political post. Then no matter when that post happens, or what they were going to be doing, they make sure that they log on at the exact moment to be in one of the top three posters. That's how we can know they really care about a subject.

Because otherwise, the order of first posts would simply be an indication of the order in which the first few people happened to log on and read it. It would just be random coincidence, and wouldn't indicate a poster's political leanings at all. And that just makes no fucking sense! Hold up a minute here. Whatever the intention, or however the conversation could have gone, it doesn't look like anyone was trolled here. Whether GasBandit was serious or not, he posted a video, and then we talked about it. Admittedly, most people just said 'this is stupid.' but no voices were raised in anger. Nobody insulted anyone. From getting my PhD at a medical university, and having to teach future MD's certain biochem and microbiology labs, I can assure that the future of healthcare in this country is pretty bleak. A good portion of medical students are pushed along the system due to grade curves and the fact they pay tuition. Med students (my friend Tim will disagree) tend to have egos the size of the Earth with no knowledge to back up their little shitty factoids they pick up in class. That is, they can memorize but they can't critically think. To be honest, I'm surprised some of them know how to tie their shoes. I can't tell you how many labs I've run where a med student tried to convince me that a piece of dust in the microscope was a stained cell so I didn't mark off a fifth of a point on their test score. MD's are masters of shoveling bullshit in your face and telling you it's gold.

That's why I'm developing an immunity to death, so I never need to go to an MD again.

I don't have any problem with Bachelor's degrees. They're good when you need toilet paper. Just kidding. I have more respect for some B.S.s than some MDs. Part of it is my loathing for the "You're not a real doctor" line. I'm sorry, what? I went to school just as long as he did, and had to develop new knowledge. I even did the equivalent of a residency, except Ph.D.s call it a post-doc, which also involved grunt work, long shifts, and low pay--and I needed to come up with more new science. And then I had to do tenure track, which involves coming up with a massive amount of new science. Not just practicing the application of factoids and procedures. We have a name for someone who does that in science. It's "the guy with the Master's degree".

I had to take an MD down a notch or two at a party a couple months ago. He was a little tipsy and started talking down to people, so I interjected "motherfucker, didn't you go to med school in the Caribbean?"
