I'm looking to upgrade one of my computers. It's my gaming rig. I'd love to see my games in DX11.

However, retail prices are INSANE. I'm not paying anywhere close to the $200+ they want for it. Does anyone have access to a place to get a deal? Or have a free license around they want to give me.

I'm looking for it to be legit.

OEM copies are usually about $100 less, but require the purchase of some significant part of hardware in order to meet the 'system builder' criteria.

Newegg.com has the OEM version of Pro for $140. The Home Premium version is $100. They don't have any requirements when buying it, but it's supposedly only for new computer builds.

I can also order it for you, but I do have to charge for markup. but if newegg has it for $140 go for that one.

The OEM contract requires that there be some sort of hardware purchased at the same time as the OEM software. Don't be too surprised if you find an extra mouse or something in the package if you try and order it solo.

See if you can find a college student to buy you a copy, usually they get it at the campus stores for really cheap. Like, $30.

I got a free copy of it from an old work colleague of mine. Thanks for the info nonetheless peeps.
