A dead cat doesn't fluff up it's tail when its in danger - that that tail was definitely fluffed up. The stop motion effect makes it difficult to tell if the cat is moving or not, but you can tell by the stance of the cat that it's actively trying to regain its balance - a dead limp cat would not have its hind legs up and back, for instance, they would hang limply down.

It's either a live animal, or a stuffed animal/toy that's posed.

Well, he's spinning pretty quickly, so the limbs wouldn't be hanging limply.

One other thing that really struck me about this video: Were this guy me I would have fallen down a long time ago and puked. That guy is spinning for minutes and his center of gravity is intact. I'd have been dizzy as fuck.

Golly Ole' England, where you can't swing a dead cat with out being caught on 5 different police monitoring cameras.

The cat was live and later returned to its owner. It is now frightened to leave the house. This clip was shown on the national news with the hope of finding the culprit for prosecution. I am not a cat lover but I hate cruelty to animals.

Wasn't there a story a few months ago about another woman in England who pet a little kitty that came up to her, and then threw it in a lidded garbage bin? And THEN didn't see what the fuss was all about when the internet used the camera recording to track her down?

Reports are coming in that the perpetrator turned himself in (possibly to avoid the wrath of Anonymous or other human flesh search).
