Cooking perfect bacon is easy in the oven. 9x13 pan, wire rack that fits in the pan, line the pan with foil for easy cleanup, put bacon on rack, place pan in oven, turn on oven to 400f, start checking your bacon at 15 minutes but continue cooking to desired crispness.
I don't think I can trust a man who doesn't fry his bacon.

I wish there was a button to disagree with the people who disagreed with the last post. Bacon should be fried. No exceptions. :p

Why should bacon be fried? Seriously, why?

Baking, I don't have to get rid of extra fat while in the middle of the cooking of a pound of pork. Cleanup, I don't have to clean the entire stove top and surrounding cabinetry, only wait for the grease to cool and then lift it all out at one time. I can bake enough bacon for 10 teenage boys in 20 minutes.

The main advantage of baking bacon is very even cooking. You can achieve that frying, of course, but its more fool proof to bake it.

However, frying bacon in its own fat produces a distinctly different result than baking it in free air which allows the fat to drip away. Depending on the stove and pan it can be easy to cook them unevenly, or burn them, so some people choose the safe baking method, but many prefer frying to baking.

Don't forget that you can then crack a few eggs open to fry them in the bacon grease.

I got my present today!

First up, some really cool clothes for my new daughter! My mother and I really love the pink striped jump suit. My wife hasn't seen them, but she's going to love the little monkey outfit!

And then there's the icing on the cake! This is the one model that I've been looking to get for my Warhammer 40k army! That was a huge surprise.

Thank you, Azurephoenix (sorry, I don't know how to tag)! You are officially the first person to buy my daughter a Christmas present...even before us.
Merry Christmas!

I'm glad you liked it. I was originally going to make you a bastion (I'm good at scratch building terrain and putting lights and cool crap in it) but I just didn't have the time (you know what having young kids is like). So I dug through my boxes of unpainted warhammer stuff (literally boxes and boxes... I've spent way too much on games workshop over the years) and traded some things for that forgefiend.

Glad you liked the clothes too. I'm used to buying things for boys so this was all new for me.

Merry Christmas! Now go paint that forgefiend! ;)

So hey, guess what came tonight?

and inside of it:

Combined with the Deus Ex games I got a few days ago, I think I know how I'm spending my post-exams break! Thanks!

Yay, it finally came! I was wondering what the hell was up with that. Tracking information just stoppped, UPS stopped showing an estimated delivery date, and I didn't know if it was ever going to arrive.

I hope you enjoy both. Glory Season is one of my favorite novels, and an interesting look at gender relations. I enjoyed Deus Ex: Human Revolution as well, and it really captures the feel of the original much better than Invisible War did. I still need to finish The Missing Link, though.

Today should be the deadline where phil 's package should arrive, if not yesterday.

I'll be sending out my Secret Stalker gift tomorrow. I know I'm so close to the deadline. You can beat me later.

:unibrow:

So I came home yesterday to find a (beautifully-wrapped, once I got it out of the shipping box) package from my Secret Santa, Sparhawk!

I open it up and find a Texas shot glass (Don't mess with Texas!!!)

And a shirt that, strangely enough, I've been eyeing for myself on Woot for a few weeks. Glad I decided to wait until after Christmas to buy it!

The shirt seemed like a great thing to wear tonight as I play Skyrim instead of working on finals:

And what better way to procrastinate than by doing shots of tequila?

Bottoms up!

All gone!

Thanks for the wicked awesome shirt and contributing to my delinquency, Sparhawk! I love it!!! :D

Gilgamesh, I finally got your gift shipped out. You should get it in about 7 days. I hope you like!

I, um, fucked up. This last weekend was crazy and I completely missed the shipping deadline. But! I just sent out the gift, and it should arrive sometime this week.

What's this? A package that I didn't expect? Could this be...

WHAT'S INSIDE? WHAT'S INSIDE? Let's have a look!

Wut...

JAAAAY! (Or person that stole Jay's idea) You magnificent bastard!

I laughed for a solid five minutes.

phil - Any word yet?[DOUBLEPOST=1355190057][/DOUBLEPOST]Tress, your package was sent almost two weeks ago. Keep a look out![DOUBLEPOST=1355190133][/DOUBLEPOST]Hey that's neat. The board thinks Anonymous is all one poster. Maybe we are.

Maybe we are.

Oh man! And a loophole!

Because Xen sees all Anonymous posters as the same, and consolidates their posts, moderators can only see who made the FIRST in the list. :)

As it turns out, it's really difficult to take a picture of your own legs. Probably for the best, you guys are spared the worst.

They actually fit really well. And it just so happens that I love bacon.
