HF Secret Santa 2012: SEND GIFT (Deadline: December 7th)

As soon the mail carrier asked me to sign for something, I knew my package arrived. 
So, what was inside? An amazing assortment of gifts!
First, I couldn't resist the call of that wooden box. Here's what was inside:
According to the note that accompanied the package, it's an ornate pencil holder. You can see the small dragon mural embedded into the sides. Fantastic!
Next up, I unraveled the wooden scroll. Here's the panoramic view of the whole thing (it's rather long!)
There was also the portrait of my name. According to the note, it was drawn in Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden, done in traditional Chinese styles.
Next, I unrolled the three scrolls. A winter scene, a dragon, and a portrait of Wang Zhou Jun (a famous consort from Chinese history):
Finally, candy! Om nom nom...

I love love LOVE corn-nut type snacks. I had a big handful of these before Christmas shopping tonight. Thanks so much for everything! Jake's birthday is this weekend, so we'll probably watch the movie.

Glad you enjoyed them Cajungal. Not sure what's going on with the intended stuff. I ordered them weeks ago and they said they shipped out to me shortly after, and I paid for expedited shipping, but I've seen nothing about them. Even the tracking number that I did get isn't functioning. But when they do arrive I'll make sure they get to you.
Funny. I only sent out the replacement stuff Friday and you already have it as opposed to the original gifts that have a two week head start on them to get to me.

I admit, when I first saw it I was a little worried. The outside box had seen better days... it was battered all to hell. The thing looked like it came from a war zone. But you (or whomever) did the packaging perfectly so nothing was damaged on the inside.Great! You got it! I was worried it wouldn't make it in time (and intact). Glad you like the gifts
It was the combined efforts of me, Jun, the postal lady and a security guard who apparently had nothing better to do (like guarding the post office, for instance). It was an hour of pure Christmas joy.

I don't mind waiting, it's cool. I was already incredibly amused with the socks.
