I wish I'd been able to pay more attention to "Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons" "The Snowmen". Today was very busy and I just couldn't focus. I'll have to rewatch it later.

Intro was trippin' balls, everything was great more Doctor Who yaaaaay. Presumably

Clara is a living paradox slash not-Timelord - her lives are all different, and she's not aware that she has different lives, but she's the same person soooo...wibbly wobbly is the best I can come up with.

    • I'm wondering if it's a clone or something the Great Intelligence has placed across time (due to running into her when he was initially forming on Earth) in some weird way to trap the Doctor.
    • The usual "SHE'S THE RANI"
    • or "SHE'S JENNY"
    • Rory's illegitimate child.
    • Something something Master.

Not really. It was already established that he was in Scrooge mode, and Strax was a convenient target for his moodiness. Also, regarding Clara,

There's a theory that the universe is doing the Doctor a favor/repaying a debt by putting her in his path and I kind of like it :3

Plus, Strax is a Sontaran who still thinks everyone else is inferior to him and should die, even if he's helping cause of a debt, so it's not like he's being a dick to the nicest guy around.

Besides, as long as we get lines like "No, no, you're not clever and you're not funny. *I'm* the clever one, you're the potato one!" I'm 100% ok with a dick-ish Doctah.

So today I went to a 50th anniversary book signing at forbidden planet :D They're re-releasing a whole bunch of the novelisations and original novels for the anniversary.

Got my books signed by Dan Abnett (the silent stars go by) , Ben Aaronovitch (remembrance of the daleks, which i've been trying to hunt down in second-hand bookstores for aages) and best of all, Terrance Dicks.
Dicks was script editor for nearly ten years, and wrote... most of the novelisations. I think his books were the first "proper" exposure I had to doctor who, when I found a crapload of the paperbacks in the local library. When the show was being repeated on tv in the Late 80's/early 90's, i was too young to be anything but terrified of the opening intro. I must have known what was going on by the time the '96 tv movie was on, so... yeah. thank Terrance Dicks :D

So if both David Tennant and Billie Piper are returning, does that mean it won't really be a "Multi-Doctor" story? Usually when those occur the current Doctor ends up meeting with his past selves via time travel (cause, you know... TIME MACHINE). It's not something he's supposed to do, but on occasion it happens and I think at least 2-3 of the times it's happened in the show's history have supposedly been amongst the strongest episodes. I guess it's still possible that David Tennant will be his 10th generation, but my bet is that if Rose is there, he will be the human "copy" that was made at the end of the 4th season. You know. The one that coincidently allowed Rose to run off with the love of her life, without the love of her life actually having to do the same.
Which means The Doctor will once again have to pierce through the veil of alternate realities.
If this is the case... I kinda feel cheated.
Plus Rose has never been one of my favorite characters. Bring back Donna or something. I mean yeah it would make her go BOOM to be with the Doctor again... but oh well.

I'm hoping for the multi-doctor special this year. I just love how the current doctor finds his past selves annoying because of how young and "stupid" they are. Because lets be honest, we would all find our younger selves difficult to put up with.

The Doctor says he's been there at the rings many years before, and that he brought his GRANDDAUGHTER there. Clara asks for clarification and he ignores her on to his next leap of thought.

I was expecting him to turn out to be the 'old god' that they worshiped, since they called it grandfather, but that wasn't it. WTF could that have meant?

It's a reference to the First Doctor, played by William Hartnell, whose companion was Susan, his granddaughter.

This episode was good. Matt Smith still terrifies me sometimes when he goes full-on old soul Doctor. The speech!:aaah:
