That insult makes literally no sense to me. Hanging around in a bar could be a very fun time. I also wish I was in good enough shape to be a lumberjack.
You finns are weird.
Son, I am disappoint.

Paging North_Ranger! I can now say I love the spoken Finnish language. There's a rather minor Scandinavian community here in my province..but apparently this year they got together to celebrate something called St. Lucias (?) Day. I helped a friend deliever some cookies a few days ago and a very nice group of froeign students met us.

Oh my god. This one guy...oh my god. He was some what grim ,never smiled, but this Finnish guy was...well...he was charming.
Awwww <3 Thank you, LittleSin . We Finns are known for our rugged charm. If you want more spoken Finnish, I'll see if I can't dig up some songs or YouTube videos for ya. Also, if memory serves, there is a sizeable Finnish minority in the Great Lakes region on both sides of the border. In years past there was even some linguistic mixing, with people talking "Finglish".

I'd love to have some music and the like! In fact, this guy was singing when I met him...Couldn't understand a lick of it but, damn, wasn't it pretty. Some sort of carol, I think.

By the way, was I right about the holiday they were celebrating? I could never get a clear answer out of any of them.

You mean Saint Lucia Day? My family used to celebrate that when I was a kid... we did it all wrong. My mom could never remember the right day, but she'd pick a day and come up the stairs wearing a white dress and a wreath of candles on her head, and serve us what she called "Kringla" but was actually something very different than Kringle. Anyway, it was a sheet pan full of thin pastry slathered with lots of icing, and it got soggy real fast so we got to eat all of it at once. So, of course, us kids loved this holiday where we got to eat tons of sugary dough first thing in the morning. I might have to do this with my own kids, if I ever have them, but I'll come up with something else to call it.

Saint Lucia's Day... that's more of a (Fenno-)Swedish celebration, to be honest. So I can't really tell much more beyond people going to church, and crowning a young girl with a crown of evergreen and burning candles, and singing.

Here's some Finnish Christmas carols and songs:

Just had a dream where me and a friend got into a fight because I thought she was a skrull. The thing was, she reacted to my confrontations like she would if you accused someone of that IRL instead of in the marvel verse. That just got me angry though, and that's what they want.

I should have just left the party early and asked professor X what to do right away.

The one named stien man knows too much. Consider for replacing.

Edit: whoops wrong window. Haha. Ignore this.[DOUBLEPOST=1355941565][/DOUBLEPOST]It was just weird because I don't think I've ever had a dream with that much of a cohesive plot or theme.

A couple of days ago, I went to the bathroom here at work and went into one of the stalls. Pulled down my pants, sat down, but right in the nick of time I noticed there's no toilet paper.

So I pulled my pants back up and exited the stall, and went to the one next door, which fortunately did have toilet paper.

Halfway through my business, I heard someone else come in, and enter that first stall, pull down his pants, and sit down, and then I heard nothing more.

Apparently he hadn't noticed in time there was no toilet paper.

And I wondered what I should do.

Should I grab a handful of toilet paper, knock on his door, and reach under the door to deliver the toilet paper? Would that be creepy? Would he be grateful?

In the end, I didn't do anything. I just left.

This got me thinking though. Perhaps it is these incidents that define who we are. These are the moments in life that allow us to show character. It is these moments that show whether we would, upon recognizing a soul in need, reach out to them and deliver toilet paper.

Mine do on occasion. One in particular that stands out would be what looked like some stupid comedy about a young man who owned a gas station and had his slutty girl-friend work there. It looked JUST like a real terrible movie, with realistic terrible dialogue and everything! I think my sub-conscious may secretly be a writer of direct to DVD movies.

I JUST REALIZED MY CALENDAR ENDS ON DECEMBER 31st!! My calendar ends, so the world must be ending, too!!!

You know what is completely unpalletable? Reheated General Tsaios. Gotta eat it fresh when its nice and crunchy. Cos when its reheated it gets all chewy and stringy and BLEAH!

Same goes for Sweet and Sour and Sesame Chicken/Beef/Pork/Shrimp. Reheated they all get gummy and nasty. Makes me sad, as I can never eat a full "family sized" serving of them and my wife doesn't like them.

Sesame/General Tsu's sauce turns to jelly when refrigerated. What I do is stir the sauce and chicken into the rice before I put it away. This makes the jelly bind to the rice, so when you heat it up you have sesame flavored rice instead of some chicken with gummy. The rice will still be one big piece, but it's easy to break up into nice size chunks.

Another tip: If you store and reheat the Sesame Chicken like I do, it tastes great if you put it in a tortilla and eat it like a burrito. Makes me wonder if a Sesame chicken burrito would be possible at Taco Bell...

Nah, if they're following their pattern (Fritos Burrito, Doritos Taco), Taco Bell's next hit will be something like "Pringles Nachos."

Do you really want to trust Taco Bell to make a decent Sesame Chicken? Besides, they'd probably try to serve it in a nacho cheese Dorito shell, instead of as a burrito.

If you reheat it in the microwave, add water to it. It helps. I just eat it cold though.
Same here, after years of failed attempts to reheat it I just said "fuck it" and decided to eat it cold. But I'm definitely trying that water tip next time.

They made a Dorito Taco, so I don't see why not.

I feel ya, I'm usually the only person who eats the General Tsaios. And Krystal Vy does NOT have a freaking small size. Wish they did, but they don't.

So, is any one having problems with youtube not playing any sound?

It's not my speakers as I can play music on my hard drive. It isn't my browsetr as I can play videos from blip. I made sure that the sound isn't automuted on youtube. It's just not working.

I have more Chinese condiment packets than I know what to do with, and whenever I get Chinese food I get a bunch more little packets. And for some reason whenever I order Chinese food, I always forget to mention not to add condiment packets. Should put a note on the fridge or something I guess.

Next time I'm orderin' the pepper steak, that stuff keeps for a long time. Was kinda on a rush to order it the other night, and I lost the the one Chinese food menu we had. We've been ordering from there for years and we always seem to not have a menu, I don't get it either Plank.

I keep all my extra condiment packets in a drawer in my kitchen. I sometimes mix and match with whatever I'm making.
