Minor victory thread

I was awarded 6 movies for free!! I'm excited.

My friends got a ton of duplicates for Christmas, so I got their extras. It's the little things. :)

I got Knight's Tale, Moulin Rouge, Italian Job, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Happy Feet and The Lion King. :) And Nate and I just bought Zombieland yesterday. It's a movie-palooza over at our place now.

I just ordered a lot of clothes that I don't need! Yay, pretties! :D

I also ordered a dress form the other day! *FINALLY* I can't wait for my lady to arrive at the door!!

2013 starts with a promotion.

Manager: Network and Infrastructure.

No more marketing, which makes me kinda sad. The girls here are pretty.

Trying a new recipe today--

White bean soup with tasso. It smells delicious in here. The meat's browned, the veggies are sauteed... just waiting for my stock to finish simmering so I can add the beans.

Lasagna is my favourite food.

My mom's is my favourite lasagna.

My mom made lasagna for dinner last night, we had a free lasagna lunch at work today, and we're having leftover mom lasagna for dinner tonight.

The only reason this isn't in EPIC win is because I'm gonna get fat, but damn, I am eating like a king these days.

Have fun at VGL and tell me afterwards that you realized that Tommy Telerico or however you spell his name isn't a cartoon character. ;)

Oh he very much is. I got free tickets from my mentor teacher in Baton Rouge a couple of years ago. Mom and Dad got Jake tickets for his birthday. He's kind of silly, but it's a fun show.

Found a fun place in Houston called Rocket Fizz. (I heard about it from a cosplayer out in California, and there are also locations in Colorado.) This was my haul:
2013_01_24 Rocket Fizz Haul.jpg

Soda: Candy Cane Train, Cheerwine, Jasmine Green Tea Ginger Ale, S’mores, Birch Beer and Black Licorice (which I already drank. It was fantastic, with a nice molasses finish.)
Candy: Shakespearean Insult Gum (for my friend Kris), Assorted Licorice, Green Lantern Pez dispenser and some Chocolate Pez (which I didn’t even know existed.)

I’m not as much of a fan of Pez as I was when I first came up with this username back in high school, but I saw the chocolate Pez and I just had to try it, so I grabbed the GL dispenser as well.

Got my first batch of mead put together and into its primary fermentation. Also, got a 1 gallon batch of cyser going (had more yeast than I needed for just the mead). Will upgrade to Epic victory in a few months if they're any good.

I found some missing writing files. Now, I have everything on my external harddrive, including the documents and revisions I made with said harddrive was out of commission. Now maybe I can finally get an excerpt together to post in the Artists' Corner!

If you happen to find yourself in the SF Bay Area, let me know. Beers are on me.
If you're ever in Houston, you'd better do it right. You better not gamble, and you better not fight (at all). The sheriff'll grab you, and the boys'll bring you down. Next thing you know, boy, well, you're prison bound.

The little brother is all married off and I'm back in Canada. Damn, that was a whirlwind trip but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Of course, reuniting with my quite bigoted family reminded me why I don't go back South very often but that's a tale for another thread. Suffice it to say, I had a lovely time and am now going to go lie down.
