No but seriously, this weekend I'm proposing to my girlfriend of nine years. Strictly speaking we've already become engaged, in the traditional Chinese sense, because my family's sent a matchmaker down to see her and her family, and they've all agreed. But she said I need to ask her personally too.

Wow, what an idiot. Dude beats her senseless and constantly retorts to people on Twitter about what horrible things he'll do to them (violence, shitting in their mouth, etc), but it's okay because "they talk about shit now." He's not okay, guy's got serious issues.

AFAIK a lot of abusive relationships work out like this, it's just that this one is particularly visible and public. Guy abuses girl, girl is emotionally dependent on guy, girl makes excuses for guy or defends him against anything perceived as a threat, far beyond all rationality and reason.

Of course, the same could easily apply if you reverse "guy" and "girl" in my previous paragraph.

Except in most abusive relationships, the girl usually doesn't leave the guy and continues getting beaten. This one was dumb enough to get out, stay out for a while, THEN go back.

I has a sad.

I can't hate her for it, though. I can't call her dumb for it.

My Dad was in an abusive relationship for years. We left several times, for weeks or months at a time...yet we all some how always ended back up with that woman.

So I just feel sorry for her, especially now that a bunch of people are going to make judgments on her choice with out really understanding what happens inside the head of a person that has been abused.

I'm having trouble with off-site youtube videos. Whenever theres a video from there on like a blog or here, it doesn't work and I have to go to youtube itself to watch it. Anyone having that problem or is it just me?

Some videos can't be embedded and you have to watch them on the main site.

Yeah but its been ALL videos for me, but I think I've figured it out. I think I have to download the newest flash player. Course that may just put spyware on my computer, so I think I'll stick with the minor annoyance of having to put a new tab up whenever I want to watch a video.

If you have the latest firefox or chrome, you don't need flash to watch youtube, I don't think... it uses HTML5 as well.

But I guess that may not be the case for embeds.
