Seriously democrats swung the filibuster around just as much as the republicans. Same with gerrymandering or all the other scummy things they do. I'm consistently astounded by people who don't recognize that.

Republicans have now fillibustered a secretary of Defense nomination. Something that has never never been done before.

They have set new records for the number of filibusters and for the least number of bills passed. Democrats didn't swing around the filibuster nearly as much as the republicans have.

Frankly it's not surprising. For all their other similarities, there's one glaringly deep ideological divide between the two parties - democrats think they should have carte blanche, while republicans think THEY should have carte blanche.
