I watched the first 2 episodes of Community last night. I'd heard great things, and I was excited to check it out. Not sure if I'm gonna keep going, though. I don't enjoy Joel McHale that much. His character seems contrived and just sort of "there." I know that every story's been told a million times, but this "cocky guy going after smart girl" story isn't grabbing me. Also the character who everyone says has Asperger's just bums me out. It felt like someone was screaming "GET IT? HE'S AWKWARD!" during all of his lines. That's what the whole show felt like: A person poking me and asking "get it?"

It wasn't all bad. There were some parts that I enjoyed, and I know that I should probably give it more of a chance... but man... I really don't want to. Probably not gonna, at least for a while.

I've been re-watching Justice League on Netflix. Hereafter is one of the best Superman storys in any medium. I love the hell out of those episodes. I like that it shows that Superman would be a hero even without his powers.

My suggestion Cajungal is to at least power through the season, up until the paintball episode. I was digging the show but not loving it until then.

What I love most about Justice League is that it introduced me to the awesomness that is J'onn J'onnz the Martian Manhunter. Seriously Time Warner, stop waiting to put him in the Justice League movie and give him a movie all ready!

I've always wanted to do a Martian Manhunter story that plays up on him being detective John Jones. Make it a sci-fi film noir, like Men in Black, but with a huge noir twist to it.

For all the talk about how Superman isn't an interesting character because he's too powerful, I think that criticism would be more aptly leveled at Martian Manhunter. He's so powerful they pretty much have to make him a glorified butler to the rest of the League so he doesn't outshine any of the heavy hitters. He's invulnerable, super strong, telepathic, can become intangible, can shapeshift, fly. Seriously, if he were evil, the world would be screwed.

Yeah, he's honestly right up there in terms of power with Supes and Wonder Woman, but constantly gets the short end of the stick. Which is sad because he's very high on my list of favourite DC characters. That said, when he's done right, like in JLA: Year One, or Morrison's run on JLA, he's outstanding. I've only read bits and pieces of it, but John Ostrander's run on the Martian Manhunter series was supposed to be damn good.

It took him months to walk to where the Watchtower had fallen out of orbit and crashed. Vandal Savage took him back to his home, which was in Metropolis. It's entirely possible they went from the Watchtower back to Metropolis on those dragonfly mounts that they use later to fly on.

Where will the series go from here in the final season?

Will Barney and Robin get married in the first episode? We already know Ted meets the mother on the train platform coming back from the wedding, so how does that play out? Does he postpone his moving to Chicago for her, or do they not quite make that connection in time right away and he does leave? Does Marshall decide to stay in New York while Lily moves to Rome for a year? But most importantly, now that WE'VE met the Mother, what other surprises could be in store for us?

I enjoyed this season. There were a few miss episodes, but for the most part it was smart, touching, and hilarious all the way through. I especially enjoyed the proposal episode. Ted is a good guy. That episode really did spotlight just how good a person he is.
