[Movies] X-Men: Days of Future Past

That chair is awfully technologically advanced for the 70s. Even the comic had the sense to show him in a regular wheelchair in flashbacks :p

They look plausibly realistic, so that also means, like most robots, they look silly.

That thing is not intimidating even with a gatling gun for a hand.

Once it is well lit, and in action (CGI) it should do ok.

I hated the Odin and Loki costumes when the set photos came out, but in the film they looked pretty good.

I was thinking the exact same thing. And how much I thought Heath Ledger would be a bad fit for The Dark Knight. These things sometimes come together much better in motion, or in the context of the whole film, than they look in photos.

But seriously, it looks like a cheap piece of crap in the picture.

Remember how bad the iron man armor stills looked?

Everything looks different in post. and we don't even know if that's a final sentinel, it could be a prototype.

Get rid of the vent on the chest and replace it with a proper armored chest piece, and it'd look much better.

I always thought the Iron Man armour looked great in the production pics.

While I agree that it looks like it needs a "Press Button For Hot Air" label, it's probably the propulsion system for flying and I want to see it in motion before I judge too harshly that it ruins the intimidation factor.

Actually, looking at the picture some more, it looks like the chest piece slides or rotates upwards to reveal the vent. So maybe it's only like this during flight, while it has a normal chest piece during normal operation.

EDIT: Wait, no, looking at evilmike's earlier White House pic, the vent is present while the bot is standing on land. Oh well.

HALT, MUTANT! OR WE WILL UNLEASH HOT AIR IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION!
I want a scene where Beast uses scavenged sentinel parts as a giant size hair dryer. Because you know that your average size hair dryer just would not cut it for the blue fuzzball.

I would think a fan (if it is one) in the middle would be a great target. Why can't these mutant superhero movies be more realistic. Pshaw.

Looks very promising, but I hope it doesn't get bogged down with too many characters like X3. Then again, X3 had a lot more problems than just too many characters.

I look at it this way, January Jones' abysmal portrayal of Emma Frost aside, First Class was a decent movie. The two Xmen movies that Bryan Singer directed are pretty much responsible for kicking off the current Super-Hero movie trend going on right now and X2 is probably one of my favorite superhero movies. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Not been keeping up with the movie, but it's giving me vibes that we are going to jump ahead to the future after the Sentinels take over, and then go back in time to do something to prevent it. If you ask me this likely means most of the characters from the first movies are going to appear and die/get captured in the first few minutes just to raise the stakes., leaving the rest of the movie open for Logan to go back and interact with the past versions of the characters. My take on what will likely happen, rather then having the whole crew from the future also in the past.

You mean just like the original story from the comic? :p
